Good Morning to all our fellow Selburnians! ☕️
We wanted to jump on here and give everyone a quick update on a few things happening behind the scenes at the shop.
🛍️ A change to our Co-Op space
Firstly, we have a little bit of bittersweet news. After careful consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision to close our current Co-Op space.
This certainly wasn’t a decision we made lightly. Unfortunately, we don’t feel the space is currently getting the local artists and makers the attention they deserve, and at this stage, it isn’t proving to be a financially viable option for us.
But don’t worry — we have plenty of ideas for the space! 👀
We’re excited about what we can potentially do with it and will share more with everyone once our plans start taking shape.
🥤 Changes to our stock
You may have noticed that our general store and drinks fridges are looking a little lighter than usual at the moment.
We’re currently in the process of changing and reviewing some of our suppliers, with the goal of bringing you a much larger and more varied range of products.
We’ve also been listening closely to your requests and taking note of the products you’d like to see on our shelves. We’ll be rearranging, refreshing and updating our stock very soon.
So please bear with us while we make these changes — we promise there are some good things coming!
🍟 Something VERY exciting!
Now for the news we’re particularly excited about…
FRYERS ARE COMING! 🎉
We’ve purchased our new fryers and are currently getting everything installed and organised. This means that, very soon, we’ll be able to offer some delicious new hot food options, including:
🍟 Hot chips
🥔 Potato cakes
🥟 Dim Sims
🍗 Chicken tenders
🍔 Potentially chicken schnitzel burgers
We’re currently researching and testing the best brands and products we can find. As with everything we offer, we’ll be trialling and taste-testing everything before it makes its way onto the menu. We want to make sure that when we put something in front of our customers, it’s something we’re genuinely proud to serve.
And that’s not all…
We’re also tossing around the idea of introducing a Big Breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings for a set period, along with a few other exciting ideas we’ve been working on behind the scenes. 👀
There’s a lot happening at Selby General Store & Cafe, and we’re incredibly excited about the direction we’re heading in.
