We never imagined we would need to make a post like this, however recent incidents have unfortunately made it necessary.
As a result, we have upgraded and expanded our security and monitoring systems throughout both the interior and exterior of our store. This decision has not been made lightly, but unfortunately we have experienced ongoing issues with items leaving the store unpaid.
We are a small, family-run business — not a large corporate chain — and every dollar genuinely matters to us. Like many small businesses, we have bills, wages, and day-to-day living expenses to cover, and losses from theft have a real impact on our ability to continue serving the community.
We pride ourselves on keeping our prices fair and affordable. We also understand that times can be tough, and if anyone is struggling financially, we encourage open communication. We are always willing to work with people where we can, whether that means holding items, arranging payment another time, or helping find a solution.
Previously, our camera systems only recorded video and audio after hours for insurance purposes. Effective immediately, the system will now operate 24/7.
Our upgraded systems include advanced monitoring technology security features. Any future incidents of theft or deliberate non-payment will be reported to police, and individuals involved may be refused entry to the store unless accompanied by a parent, guardian, or staff member.
We appreciate and value the overwhelming support from our local community. Small businesses are doing it tough, and your support truly helps keep local businesses alive.
