Effective immediately 5 June 2026, there is an interruption to the potable water supply at Burdekin Falls Dam until further notice.
Sunwater encourages visitors to minimise water use during this period where possible.
Bottled water is available from the Sunwater Office for affected visitors.
A further update will be provided when the interruption is resolved.
Sunwater thanks the community for their patience and apologises for any inconvenience.

BURDEKIN FALLS DAM | Boat Ramp Reopened

The boat ramp at Burdekin Falls Dam (Lake Dalrymple) has reopened today.

The dam is continuing to spill however, so all recreational users should exercise caution and observe a temporary 1000 metre exclusion zone. The spillway road remains closed at this time.

🚫 No boating, fishing or water activities within 1000 metres of the dam spillway (temporary expanded exclusion zone)
⚠️ Beware of exposed and submerged hazards
👀 Obey all information signs, wear life jackets and take extra care

The boat ramp and recreation area were closed in the monsoon event in January 2026, which resulted in the buoy line being significantly damaged. The buoy line is currently being replaced, and we will provide an update when this work is complete.

Please be aware of potential risks at Lake Dalrymple and ensure your vessel is in good condition, properly equipped and maintained, and operated safely.
