Get out to Ellenbrook on Sunday, bring Mum out for a special lunch!
DTN 500 IS BACK!
Just as we thought the season was over, one more huge show is on the cards this weekend, with the second annual Dirt Track Nutters (DTN) 500 being held on Sunday at the Ellenbrook Speedway!
The event has attracted a stellar lineup of twenty drivers, with a good mix of old and new, veterans and rookies, and everything in between set to hit the track.
Last season's DTN 500 saw Cody Turacchio (Cody Turacchio Motorsports) claim victory over Brendon Marshman (Opal Finance F500 Racing) and Chris Dymock (Dymock Motorsport), but with only Dymock in the field, we are guaranteed a new winner. Dymock of course will be hoping for a better run, having gone upside down in the heat races before fighting back to claim a spot on the podium.
September 2024 marks the last time Formula 500's actually contested a meeting at Ellenbrook and it was Brendan Newmarch (Newmarch Racing) who took the win at that show, but with him not in the field, it means Debbie Garland (Woodys Racing) and Logan Harris (LSJ Motorsports), who were second and third respectively, come in as some of the favourites, particularly considering the result they grabbed towards the tail end of the summer season just gone.
All the regulars in the field such as Darren Rodwell, Jo and Dustin Filgate, Craig Noakes and Darren Wood, while there are plenty of returnees in the field including Jeff Hedington, Todd Broadwood, Flynn Roser (Roser Motorsport), Thomas Davies (Thomas Davies Racing) and Cameron McKenzie (Cameron McKenzie Racing).
We also see a number of drivers making their first appearance for season 2025: Glen Mears (Mears Racing), Jason Carbone, James Dawson and Ashleigh Oldfield all set to hit the track while we also welcome some rookies to the Formula 500 ranks: Connor Murray who has completed the last couple of shows, Jack Paterson who debuted last weekend and Isaac Arnold who will make his Formula 500 debut.
This event is a big one for the Formula 500's and plenty of sponsors have come on board to make it happen, so a huge thankyou to the team at Dirt Track Nutters, Dave at Hyper Industries, Wayne from Jim's Test and Tag Ellenbrook, Clint at Darkhorse Design, Brendan from Cash For Containers, Michael from Michael Holmes Racing, Michael from COMEX CIVIL and Paul from Maddington Toyota and CanningVale Toyota.
Make sure you get to the track early because this event, which opens the Ellenbrook Speedway season, is sure to be huge! Racing from 11am.
