Huge thanks to Shawn Kalleske of Laughing Jack Wines - Barossa Valley for joining us in Perth for a series of events last week.

One of the highlights was the Laughing Jack ‘Wine & Dine’ evening at Una Mes tapas and wine bar, undoubtedly a standout of our events calendar to date.

Tasting the 2002 Greenock Shiraz (Laughing Jack’s first commercial release!) was a real moment. 23 years on and it’s still phenomenal.

Thanks again for making the trip to WA, Shawn - your passion and knowledge brought so much to every event. Seven years is far too long between visits so here’s hoping we see you back across the Nullarbor sooner rather than later!

Join La Vigna and Laughing Jack Wines - Barossa Valley for a unique wine and dine event at Una Mes tapas and wine bar.

Shawn Kalleske, Winemaker and Owner of Laughing Jack Wines, will personally take guests through a selection of nine family estate-grown wines, each thoughtfully paired to complement a specially designed six-course set menu.

This is an intimate long table dinner for lovers of fine wine, flavour and stories from the vineyard - with only a few seats still available!

Some interesting and rare whiskies from Macallan, Springbank, Glenfarclas, Port Ellen and Ardbeg that we tasted back in May 2015.

These were considered premium whiskies at that time but commanded nowhere near the high prices they fetch today (if you can even find one, that is!).

For those lucky enough to attend the tasting, we hope this sparks a sense of nostalgia and stirs up some fond memories.

Here’s another throwback to May 2015 which was clearly a busy month for in-store tastings!

This tasting showcased wines from producers who embrace natural winemaking practices:

- La Violetta (WA, Australia)
- Gravner (Friuli, Italy)
- Costadilà (Veneto, Italy)
- Valle Reale (Abruzzo, Italy)

Natural wine was a relatively new segment in our industry back then, with both local and overseas producers inspired by pioneers like Gravner and Costadila. Today, it has gained a dedicated following among consumers.

Here’s another timeless favourite for our collectors and wine enthusiasts.

Ten years ago, La Vigna offered a rare treat - a chance to savour some exceptional aged wines from Lindemans in the Hunter Valley. On pour that month were three remarkable Hunter River varietals: the 1983 and 1987 Burgundy, and the 1983 Shiraz. Each was a standout and hard to find now.

Penfolds Grange Hermitage was on pour, specifically the 1963 and 1967 vintages, and both were shining examples of what is arguably Australia’s most iconic wine.
