Brilliant visit today to ‘Lamole di Lamole’ winery in (you guessed it) Lamole - the smallest and highest elevation (around 600mt) hamlet in the Chianti Classico DOCG. Custodians of some incredible old vines, with the high altitude fruit producing wines with incredible fragrance and minerality, as well as structure and grace. These are not your normal robust and rustic Chianti - they are energetic and tightly coiled. Who wants to twist our arm to get some over to WA?

Fabulous few days spent exploring the beautiful region in Piedmont with our friends at Viberti wines. A huge thanks to Claudio Viberti for the warm hospitality and sharing his passion and extensive knowledge of the region and native grapes varietals. Claudio will be visiting Perth in a few weeks time and we can’t wait to share these wines with you!

Pumped to receive Varney Wines Limited Release Grenache 2024 - we haven't cracked a bottle yet so I'll differ to Halliday notes for this post - which I must say sounds super tasty! "Blewitt Springs, Seaview and Whites Valley, with all vines north of 70 years; some bunch, some full carbonic, all native ferments, then nine months in seasoned oak. This was picked on the early-ish side, yet the swell of fruit flavour is effusive. And in the best sense. It’s a wine that lures you in, seductive with its sultry florals and dark red and black fruits. It’s savoury, too, detailed with fine Medina spices and dried Mediterranean herbs. This is perhaps the finest Grenache I have tasted from this address, the three district parcels making up an effortlessly complex whole. Superb." 96 Points, Gold!
