FRIDAY TASTING | **es
4pm - 7pm
This week we’ve got one of WA’s most exciting w**emakers behind the tasting bench, and he’s bringing the new Juniper releases with him. Head W**emaker Andrew “Andy” Bretherton has had a hell of a run. His first complete vintage at Juniper produced the 2024 Cornerstone Karridale Chardonnay, which absolutely cleaned up at the Royal Perth W**e Awards, taking W**e of Show, Best White W**e, Best WA W**e and Best Chardonnay from more than 1,000 entries. Its Wilyabrup sibling took Gold, too.

But let's talk some more about the w**emaker, Andy! He has spent nearly 20 years honing his craft, with experience spanning the Mosel, Burgundy and Chianti Classico, alongside significant roles at De Bortoli Yarra Valley and Deep Woods Estate. He was also named Dux of the 2025 Len Evans Tutorial, finishing top of an elite group of just 12 scholars selected from a record 189 applicants for what is often dubbed the greatest w**e school in the world! So, as you can see, this is a very special Tasting week.

Thursday at Como and Friday at North Freo, Andy and Juniper GM, Tom Hill will be pouring six new releases (with all new labels), including the new 2025 Cornerstone Karridale and Wilyabrup Chardonnays, alongside Juniper Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Tempranillo.

So, what are we drinking...?
- Cornerstone Karridale Chardonnay 2025
- Cornerstone Wilyabrup Chardonnay 2025
- Juniper Chardonnay 2025
- Juniper Tempranillo 2024
- Juniper Malbec 2025
- Juniper Cabernet Sauvignon 2024

A seriously good opportunity to taste what’s next from Juniper, with the bloke making it! See you between 4pm - 7pm, folks!

Who's up next for Sunday Funday?
We're cooking up something deliciously spectacular for our next Sunday Funday event, coming in October! Announcing soon, you're gonna LOVE IT.

Gold star if you guess it. Extra credit if you recognise the millennial pop culture meme we're referencing here. (Hint: gotta catch 'em all.)

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, grandads, father figures and good blokes. Here’s to a Sunday spent around the table, something good on the grill, something even better in the glass, and the people you’d most like to share both with.

Cheers from all of us at Old Bridge. 🍷 And a special shout-out to the dads in our own Old Bridge family.

BREWERY OF THE MONTH |
This month we've got a little taste of Ningaloo, without the 1,200km drive! Whalebone Brewing Co. was founded in 2017 by two local families who wanted to make b**r suited to life on the Ningaloo Coast: refreshing, true-to-style brews made for warm days, salty skin and good company. Almost a decade later, they’re still brewing everything on-site in their wonderfully no-frills Exmouth shed, with the brewery becoming something of a local institution along the way.

There’s plenty of Exmouth woven through the story, too. The Whalebone name references the region’s whaling history and nearby Whalebone Island, while recycled timber from the old Navy Pier was used to build the brewery bar. Their b**rs follow suit, with names and styles that feel unmistakably of the North West.

For September, we’ve brought in a cracking cross-section of the range, from the bright, easy-drinking Session Ale, through the juicy Hazy Bone NEIPA and punchier Big Bone IPA, to the maltier Flensing Red Ale. We’ve even snuck in their Gin & Ginger for something a little different.

So, what are we drinking...?
- Whalebone Brewing Co. Session Ale
- Whalebone Ningaloo Gin & Ginger
- Whalebone Brewing Co. Big Bone IPA
- Whalebone Brewing Co. Hazy Bone NEIPA
- Whalebone Brewing Co. Flensing Red Ale

Independent, proudly West Australian, full of character, an on special all month long!

In the spirit of Father's Day, a moment of appreciation for the iconic "Dad" text messages. This one from Mark, who was excited to share with the family chat his "double yolk-er" lime this week.

Dads, gotta love 'em!

CASTLE ROCK ESTATE WITH ROB DILETTI
| Friday, 18th of September
Opportunities to sit down and taste with Rob Diletti are few and far between. One of the pioneers of modern Great Southern w**emaking, Rob has spent more than four decades helping shape the region, with Castle Rock Estate now a benchmark for Riesling and Pinot Noir. For this intimate Friday lunch, Rob will open an exceptional line-up spanning current, flagship and museum releases, including Estate and Diletti bottlings of Riesling, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, giving us the rare opportunity to see just how beautifully these w**es evolve.
au will be on food duties, creating individually paired canapés, or as we've affectionately called them, "fancy snacks", for each flight. Exceptional w**es, remarkable bottle age and one of WA's most respected w**emakers around the table.

Seats are limited, so register now to join us.

W**ERY OF THE MONTH (+ FRIDAY TASTING) **e
Fervor W**e is the family project of father-and-son team Mike and Callum Garland, bringing together decades of Great Southern experience, a new-generation perspective and access to some seriously good fruit. Mike has been making w**e in the Great Southern since the mid-'90s, including 14 years at Castelli Estate, while Callum has built his own impressive CV across WA, Victoria and Europe. Together, they're making the kind of w**es we love at Old Bridge: generous, expressive, immensely drinkable and good value.

And there are some serious players in this mix! Fervor draws on excellent Great Southern sites and the relationships Mike has built with growers over more than 25 years. The result is a range that is playful without being frivolous, with plenty of pedigree sitting behind very approachable price points.

We're clearly not the only ones paying attention either. Fervor has just been named a finalist for Halliday's 2027 Best New W**ery, with the judges particularly impressed by the clarity and provenance coming through in the w**es.

So, what are we drinking...?
- Fervor Nonna Diana Fiano
- Fervor Funke Riche Chardonnay
- Fervor Burning Violins Pinot Noir
- Fervor Nuvo Movo Grenache
- Fervor Nonno Lou Sangiovese
- Fervor No Royalty Syrah

The lineup is on special all month long, and even better, we're pouring Fervor at North Freo (Friday) this week from 4pm - 7pm. So, come by and see exactly what all the fuss is about.
