2. Kallista General Store
 
A feature of the Kallista main street for over 100 years, the General Store is a warm hug for locals and tourists alike. Shop local produce, gourmet hampers and local w**e while enjoying barista made coffee.

3. The Lost Woods Market The Lost Woods - Makers Market
 
On the second Saturday of each month, the Dandenong Ranges come alive with The Lost Woods Market, a plethora of stall holders roll into Emerald, and we are delighted by some of the region’s finest makers, artists and growers, bringing their produce and items to you
 
Next market will be Saturday 14th November.
 

4. Machar Made

Turning hides of leather into made to order custom designs, Machar Made produces one-of-a-kind leather products. Leadtime varies for made to order products, with limited stock on hand of leather bookmarks.

Have we told you about these little cheese and grazing boxes we’ve been putting together for AmazingCo | The experience you’ll never forget ?🧀

We were delighted when they asked us to be part of their Mystery Picnics!

It’s been such fun welcoming new visitors into our little store each week, hearing stories from their adventures and sharing a bit of our own history and this beautiful region with them.

Then off they go on their next adventure, with a little bit of Kallista deliciousness tucked under their arm.

And judging by the lovely customer reviews, we reckon our cheese boxes are going down a treat!

And the good news? You don’t have to be on a Mystery Picnic to enjoy one!

If you’ve got a picnic planned, a special occasion coming up or just fancy a little cheese feast, we’d be delighted to put a box together for you too.

One of the many things we love about the w**e industry is that you never know where a conversation might lead…🍷

Donna from Tourism East suggested I pop into Yarra Valley Co. in Warburton to see what Jim and Ri have been creating, so on Sunday I did just that☀️

And what a stunning day for it! Sitting beside the river enjoying a few w**es and experiencing their lovely w**e bar.

It’s always rewarding to get out and see what others in our industry are doing, share experiences and support each other. And it’s even better when our tourism connections bring us together.

Of course, I couldn’t resist trying a few w**es, and I discovered one particularly exciting w**e that I’m now looking at bringing into our little store. I’ll keep you posted on that one!

There are so many beautiful, secluded little spots tucked away in the Dandenong Ranges, just waiting to be discovered.

Today it was Beagleys Picnic Ground. A quiet spot away from the crowds, with the peaceful sound of running water.

Sometimes it’s the little hidden places that make you want to stop and stay a while.

We know the w**e industry’s a small one, but we still love it when the w**emakers themselves delivers the w**e.

Today we had Alex from Jane James W**es drop off a couple of w**es for our shelves, and he even kindly lent me a piece of w**emaking equipment I desperately needed to borrow.

Whether it’s our little village or the w**e industry in general, it always comes back to the people.
And we rather like that 🍷
