Bit slow to get going today. I had my flu shot yesterday afternoon, got in to bed at 9pm last night, no beers or anything, slept through, woke up today feeling like I had 27 beers last night. Beats having the flu beat the crap out of you though. It's time for Coburg's favourite insensitive game.... LOCAL AUCTION LOTTO!

I was doing some writing about the history of beer in Australia and came up to a part where James Squire was important. Thought to myself "I haven't heard anything about them for ages, I wonder how that brand's going?" I wish I hadn't looked, the relos are surrounding Mr Squire's hospital bed and the prognosis is very grim. Those beers were so significant back in the day, they were one of a couple of breweries that made flavour fashionable and accessible, they took tasty beer mainstream from the quirky quiet nook that it was lurking in. While I'm not one to give much of a f**k about the brands of a big business, I am sad to see what they've done to ol' Jim. Di*****ds.

Hello Coburg

My name is Ryan. I’m a Coburg local who was fed up with travelling outside the ‘burg to get interesting booze to drink at home. So we set about fixin’ that problem with this here little shop here on Bell street. There’s 200+ good craft beers that change every week, I’ve got a couple of hundred great wines of all shapes and sizes, and a few dozen local gins, whiskies, liqueurs and delights.
