These 2022 Il Giardano and La Rocca Pinot Noirs blew our staff away at a recent tasting we hosted, both were concentrated, powerful, mineral expressions that will delight for years to come.

We were also astounded by the sophistication and layered depth in Stefano’s 2017 Brut Rosé and NV Brut Reserve. These are absolute highlights on the Australian sparkling landscape and would impress even the most patriotic Champagne producer.

Stefano and Monique’s son, Marco Lubiana, has also delivered some brilliance, with a perfumed and poised Pinot that is absolutely singing right now.

Our customers have been shouting at us to see One Battle After Another, so we did and were blown away. So much so, we made a little poster and a drinks pairing guide for the film.

Apologies to Lady Champagne for not including something French.

Seeing as this is our Film of the Year so far, we got to thinking about some of our Wines of the Year so far…
We focused on Australian wines with this list, and ended up with some stellar bottles from Orbis, Stefano Lubiana, Moondarra, Jayden Ong, Parley and A&C Ainsworth.

What an ensemble?! Each is full of complex characteristics, and although there’s no big twist – since none are screw tops – every bottle was captivating and sublime.

If only someone made wines with footy-time-togetherness in mind. Oh wait, we did!Get your Half-Time Orange in the fridge...
