It’s Heaps Good and it’s back this week! Pint of Origin Festival returns to takeover all 21 of our taps with the best South Australian craft beers for 10 days from this Friday. We’re bringing pallet loads of kegs across the border from a dozen of the best breweries in the state, with nearly all of these beers never seen in Melbourne before!

Of course Pint of Origin is really all about the beers, but that’s doesn’t mean we can’t throw in a few fun events too!

After the wild success of last year’s Frog Cake Ale we just had to revisit this, and have teamed up with to brew our next collab brew in the Frog Cake series that will be launched on opening night this Friday. More info on that one to come…

This year also coincides with the first AFL Showdown of the year which is always an epic clash that doesn’t get the coverage it deserves in Vic. So we’re throwing a party on Saturday 10th and and are shouting the beers for y’all until the first goal is kicked in each half! Pick your side and settle in for the match.

And we’re going out in style on Sunday 18th for the last day of the festival with a Heaps Good SA Feast cooked up yakitori style by our favourite Adelaide Masterchef alongside our main man on the hibachi grills , all paired with SA brews. Super limited tickets go on sale Tuesday for this one so keep those eyes peeled

There really isn’t a bad day to swing by as we’re open all 10 days of Pint of Origin with an immense selection of beers pouring and have something on most days to keep you entertained. Full schedule below

After a HUGE month of Yakitori, you’ve all loved it so much that we had no choice but to keep the grills firing! So we’re stoked to announce that the Pop-Up is now continuing another 7 weeks through till the end of May!

If you’ve walked past lately you’ll know the aromas coming from the hibachi grill are irresistible! Every Thursday to Sunday you can get authentic Japanese skewers with any of our 21 taps of rotating craft beers… It really is a match made in heaven! 🤗

After a big summer of Run Club we’re hitting Autumn in style this Thursday with our inaugural Pot Run!🏃‍♀️🍻🏃‍♂️

Pot Run has been devised by our thirsty Run Club members as a once a quarter event including the usual leisurely 5km run around the neighbourhood, but with a couple of stops at local pubs along the way for a sneaky pot of lager and a chat! 🍺

Everyone is welcome to join whether you’ve been to our Run Club before or not. We start from Near & Far at 6.30pm and return there after for half price beer with the footy on the big screen, and yakitori on the grill for those post run munchies.

Matsuyama Yakitori pop-up kitchen at Near & Far is go!Fitzroy was vibing for opening night and we sold-out last night, but Chef has loads more authentic charcoal grilled skewers coming at Brunswick St from 6pm tonight!

We can absolutely confirm now that these sticks are just like you’d find on the streets of Japan and they pair absolutely perfectly with beer so we’ve got your Friday night sorted at all under one roof!

We’ll be firing up the hibachi grills until late (or sold out) tonight, and then back again from midday tomorrow till late and Sunday till 5pm so come check it out.

Walk-ins only at the moment to give everyone a fair shot so round up some friends and join in the fun!!

Oh boy have we got a treat for you beer lovers tomorrow! The legends at have teamed up with 3 of our favourite English breweries to make 3 epic collab beers that will all be tapped at the same time this Friday.

First up is “Solara” a huge Oat Cream DIPA with that has been described as the hoppiest and craziest DIPA Range have ever made!

Wash that down with “Cliff Update” a clean & crisp Bright IPA collab with that’s a take on those ultra modern Cali IPA’s.

And finish off your Postcards adventure with “Six & Out” a DDH IPA with the haze masters at that we have unreasonably high expectations for!

All 3 kegs will be tapped at 5pm Friday and when they’re gone they’re gone so get in quick to get your taste of Britain 🍻

Open Mic night launches this Wednesday night at Near & Far! There’s a Free Pint for all performers so come on down and scratch that musical itch. Plus $10 Pints all night for everyone including those just here to watch!

If you haven’t been on stage and always wanted to this is the perfect place to try, or if you’re experienced just show off your skills! PA, mic and even a house guitar provided but you’re welcome to bring anything else you want to add to the mix.

All are welcome to come have a drink and see the show too so let’s pack the place out and make it a permanent part of this buzzing Fitzroy music scene!

Super excited to announce Matsuyama Yakitori are setting up shop at Near & Far Bar in Fitzroy next month! If there’s ever been a food that pairs perfectly with beer then yakitori is it so this is really a match made in heaven!

Get ready for authentic charcoal grilled skewers just like you’d find on the streets of Japan. Head Chef is a master at turning simple yakitori ingredients into bold flavoursome dishes so we’re in for a real treat.

We’ll be firing up the hibachi grills for dinner on Thursday, Friday & Saturday nights plus lunch on the weekend. And with 21 taps there will be a lot of beer to pair your skewers with so one visit might not be enough!

Stay tuned for more details over the next couple of weeks. We’ll open up for bookings early next week so mark it in your diary and get round up your crew for the full yakitori experience!

The moment has arrived- we now have Gluten Free beer on tap! Kicking it off this weekend is the super smashable Mexican Cerveza limited release and all going well we’ll keep rolling out GF beers on this tap permanently!

Big props to N&F Run Club mainstay Trent who put in an intense campaign lobbying for GF beer on tap! So everyone get around our man and help him drink this keg so we can ensure there’s always pints on hand for our GF brethren! 🍻

And what better time to give it a try then after a 5km with Trent at Run Club! 6.30pm start every Thursday from N&F, then half price beers after (and a Pool Comp too 🎱)

Join us at Near & Far 6.30pm every Thursday for a leisurely 5km trot on our trademark Fitzroy Bin Chicken or Carlton Star & Bra running routes. Then replenish with half price beers for all runners at the bar afterwards- that’s a win/win in any language!🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🍻
