With winter finally arriving it’s time to pack your brollies and chug some British beers at the ole Near & Far!

We’ve got a fresh shipment of kegs from some of the UK’s finest craft breweries to fill our taps including Manchester’s , out of Cornwall, London’s and , and Scottish maestros and

Expect a little bit of everything from crazy sours to cozy darks, a few old school lagers and ales, and of course plenty of the soft & juicy hazy bois that the UK scene has become so renowned for.

We’ll also have the World Test Championship Final live from Lords on the telly for those that fancy a bit of cricket with their froths. What better way to spend a typically English cold and wet weekend!

Good news yakitori lovers of Fitzroy, our pop-up with is here to stay! You’ve voted with your feet over the last 3 months and left us with a very easy decision to extend this awesome collaboration.

If you keep coming we’ll keep grilling, it’s as simple as that! There really is no better combo than beer and fresh grilled meats on a stick so we’re hoping we can keep this thing going for a long while yet!

The hibachi grills are now firing up 6 days a week, from 6pm Tuesday to Friday and 12noon on weekends. So come warm up and enjoy the smokey izakaya bottleshop vibes with us and help keep the dream alive! 🏮

Super excited to announce performing live this Saturday night at Near & Far! After meeting and jammin’ at one of our first Open Mic Night’s these guys have now formed a band and they rock!

Their last impromptu gig with us a couple of weeks ago drew a packed house and was a rollicking good time so we can’t wait to do it all again this week!

Get in early for some Yakitori and $10 Pints of from 6-9pm, with the Haus Bahnd hitting the stage around 8.30pm

And if you can’t make it on Saturday then swing by for our regular weekly Open Mic Night every Wednesday night where it all started for these guys… who knows, maybe you’ll be next!

Come on down for a special Pint of Origin edition Pot Run tonight with our regular Thursday night Run Clubbers!

Meet at Near & Far at 6.30pm for a leisurely 5km run with two pit stops along the way at our fellow Pint of Origin venues for a refreshing pot! Then it’s back to Near & Far to drink some of the fantastic lineup of South Aussie beers at half price! 🍻

Tonight’s route is a closely guarded secret known only by the upper echelons of NFRC, but let’s just say we’ll be doing a bit of island hopping this evening 😉

If you can’t make it tonight then never fear as Near & Far Run Club meets every Thursday at 6.30pm, and there will no doubt be another Pot Run scheduled over the coming months too 🏃 🏃‍♂️

It’s Heaps Good and it’s back this week! Pint of Origin Festival returns to takeover all 21 of our taps with the best South Australian craft beers for 10 days from this Friday. We’re bringing pallet loads of kegs across the border from a dozen of the best breweries in the state, with nearly all of these beers never seen in Melbourne before!

Of course Pint of Origin is really all about the beers, but that’s doesn’t mean we can’t throw in a few fun events too!

After the wild success of last year’s Frog Cake Ale we just had to revisit this, and have teamed up with to brew our next collab brew in the Frog Cake series that will be launched on opening night this Friday. More info on that one to come…

This year also coincides with the first AFL Showdown of the year which is always an epic clash that doesn’t get the coverage it deserves in Vic. So we’re throwing a party on Saturday 10th and and are shouting the beers for y’all until the first goal is kicked in each half! Pick your side and settle in for the match.

And we’re going out in style on Sunday 18th for the last day of the festival with a Heaps Good SA Feast cooked up yakitori style by our favourite Adelaide Masterchef alongside our main man on the hibachi grills , all paired with SA brews. Super limited tickets go on sale Tuesday for this one so keep those eyes peeled

After a HUGE month of Yakitori, you’ve all loved it so much that we had no choice but to keep the grills firing! So we’re stoked to announce that the Pop-Up is now continuing another 7 weeks through till the end of May!

If you’ve walked past lately you’ll know the aromas coming from the hibachi grill are irresistible! Every Thursday to Sunday you can get authentic Japanese skewers with any of our 21 taps of rotating craft beers… It really is a match made in heaven! 🤗

After a big summer of Run Club we’re hitting Autumn in style this Thursday with our inaugural Pot Run!🏃‍♀️🍻🏃‍♂️

Pot Run has been devised by our thirsty Run Club members as a once a quarter event including the usual leisurely 5km run around the neighbourhood, but with a couple of stops at local pubs along the way for a sneaky pot of lager and a chat! 🍺

Everyone is welcome to join whether you’ve been to our Run Club before or not. We start from Near & Far at 6.30pm and return there after for half price beer with the footy on the big screen, and yakitori on the grill for those post run munchies.
