After a long non plug and play route we finally have come to a great result with Justin's blown vz alloytec ute!
Coming in broken with a number of issues including mixing oil in the water, broken ringlands, blower that was filled with mostly metal instead of oil 😅 and a number of other issues , after consulting with justin it wasn't just a basic head gasket fix.. our aim was to build a street friendly 300rwkw on low boost up from the 211rwkw it had achieved with the supercharger before.
To do this we needed a good base .. we had confidence in the factory bottom end including a factory piston, rod, rodbolt, crank and mains hardware with some tweaks. Special Thanks to Kanaris Engines for the continuous quality machine work.
We then elected to step up the camshaft and cylinder head combination from factory including:
✅️ Mace Engineering Group 210 cams
✅️ All new genuine factory rocker and lifter gear
✅️ Performance Springs 95 lbs valve springs
✅️ Ported CPR6 and lower manifold to suit the stage 2 boosted ported cylinder head setup by
Kyri Race Heads
✅️ Factory Recoed Valves
✅️ Custom ARP head studs to suit the alloytec
✅️ Factory style Mahle MLS head gaskets
Our goal here was to make the engine as efficient as possible with accesible parts as we were only targeting low boost so we didn't have to dumb the engine down for something like 20+ psi of boost including retaining the factory comp ratio of 10.2:1.
From there the engine combination was complete..
We future proofed the whole car for 300rwkw boosted including
✅️ 1150cc bosch injectors
✅️ 460lph drop in fuel pump
✅️ turbosmart fpr6 with 6an feed and return lines and aeroflow hardware
✅️Pana Custom Catch Can Kit
✅️Fenix VZ alloy radiator with front thermostat conversion kit
✅️Hurricane extractors and hi flow cats with an X force twin 2.5" catback

Then the more challenging part , making a haltech elite 2500 communicate with the factory dash and canbus system. So George... at Pro Flow Fab & Dyno was the man to make this work.
Featuring :
✅️ A haltech elite 2500
✅️ Full custom wiring loom
✅️ All sensors including VVT, knock, flex and fuel pressure were all functional
✅️Initial setup and calibration

We ran this up N/A after dialing in the VVT system we managed to make more N/A than when it was boosted running up at 216rwkw which was great as our plan was working meaning at this point it should easily make 300rwkw. At this point we sent justin off to do some break in kms on the engine and when we got it back we fitted up:
✅️ The reconditioned vortech v2 blower with new bearings and seals
✅️ Made up all the intercooler piping with a turbosmart blow off valve and aeroflow 600 x 300 x 76mm intercooler
✅️ Made up a Custom overflow bottle with 2L storage
✅️ Fitted an m80 diff with trutrac and 3.9s
On 98 we ran this up and it made 313rwkw on 10 psi.
We then drained as much fuel out of it as we could and filled it up with ethanol coming in with a 60% ethanol content we managed to crack 327rwkw by 7000rpm on 10 psi of boost. Again we know this will make more with more rpm, timing and ethanol content but we are already making an extra 27rwkw over our goal!
