The vineyard itself dates back to the 1930s, with old-vine Grenache, Shiraz and Chenin Blanc planted on the area’s deep sandy soils. MMAD brings the same attention to detail behind Shaw + Smith to one of McLaren Vale’s most distinctive sites.

Few regions are shaped by so many variables.
Vineyards climb from around 450 to over 1000 meters above sea level, crossing ancient lava flows, changing exposures and more than 130 recognised contrade.
It’s this remarkable combination of altitude, aspect and geology that makes Etna one of the most complex and exciting wine regions in Italy.
