💔 A Heartbreaking Appeal From Our Small Business

Hi Everyone, please let us know if you have any information that may help us identify this person.

⚠️ ALL LOTTO OUTLETS—PLEASE BE AWARE ⚠️

This person took seven $20 Lucky Dips and three $30 Lucky Dips without paying and may attempt to present or cash them at another outlet.

As a small local business, we work incredibly hard every day just to keep our doors open. Every loss affects us—Our Family, Our staff and the Little Shop we are trying so Hard to Protect.
It is Heartbreaking and Frustrating to see Someone walk in and take what they want without paying. Small businesses are already doing it tough, and Incidents like this make it even Harder.

If you’re reading this, please return the tickets to our store—no questions asked. We simply want them back.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support and look out for our little local business. ❤️

❤️ Behind Every Smile: A Half-Century of Genuine Care

Alan and Helen have shared a Wonderful Friendship for around 50 years, Beginning During their School days at Invermay Primary School and Continuing through Launceston High School in Paterson Street❤️
Both were Born and Raised in Launceston. Alan Lives near the Units behind the Mowbray pub, while Helen now Lives in Newstead. Before retiring, Alan worked in a Clinical role at the Hospital, while Helen worked as a Laundry assistant.
These days, they Catch up for Morning or afternoon tea twice a week. They enjoy Meeting different people, Looking around at New Houses—and patiently waiting for that Big Lotto win! ☕🏡🍀

Their Friendship is Filled with Genuine Care and Plenty of Laughter. After Helen had a fall, She didn’t want to go to the Hospital that Night, but Alan made sure his Good Friend got there the following Morning. Helen Jokingly calls him her “chauffeur”! 🚗😂

Alan also Loves his whisky—and Helen Laughed that he’s always trying to steal some from Her House! 🥃😂

Their message to Everyone is Simple:

💛 Have a Good Life, Enjoy meeting different People and always Look after your Good Friends.

Behind Every Smile… There’s a Story Waiting to Be Told. ❤️

🚨 DID YOU ATTEND OUR SUNDAY MARKET? WE NEED YOUR HONESTY & HELP. ❤️

Sadly, after what was our BEST Church On Sundays market yet, we discovered something pretty devastating.

Our Square handheld payment machine had been offline during the entire event on Sunday 30 August, from 11am–3pm. That should not have been a major issue. It appeared to accept everyone’s card payments as normal throughout the day, but when we reconnected it to the internet, every single card payment from the day was DECLINED.

I have been trying to resolve this with Square since then, with numerous phone calls, emails, screenshots and records being provided to Square, but unfortunately the payments cannot be recovered through them as they have all the fine print covered 😡 All "care" no responsibility...

That means that if you purchased pizzas, food, drinks, scones etc. from our timber counter in front of the house and paid by CARD, the payment you thought you made did not actually come out of your bank account — and we did not receive it.

So, we are asking for something very simple:

❤️ YOUR HONESTY.

Please have a quick look at your bank account. If you paid by card at our counter on Sunday and there is no payment to The Church/Square, we would be incredibly grateful if you could repay the amount.

We have the list of all the payment amounts declined so if you are not sure of the amount owed we can help you. Email [email protected] or text 0401 788 880 so I can let you know.

You can repay your purchase by:

📱 PayID: 0401 788 880

or

🏦 Direct Bank Transfer
Account Name: The Church / G and N Graham
BSB: 632 001
Account: 100233841
Please put your NAME & “Sunday” in the payment description so we can reconcile the payments.

or

☎️ Call 0401 788 880 and I can take your payment over the phone.

We are obviously pretty upset. We worked incredibly hard on Sunday, as did everyone helping us, and it was such a fantastic day. We were absolutely thrilled because it looked like it was going to be the first of our live music and market days to actually make a profit. These events take time, money and a huge amount of work to build!!!

For a small family business just starting out, this is a significant amount to lose from a single day.

Thankfully, everyone who paid cash is completely fine — those payments were received.

We know that everyone who tapped their card did so genuinely believing they had paid us. Nobody has done anything wrong!!! 🙏We simply need those people to check their accounts now that we know what happened.

Please check your bank account to see the amount would not have come out of your account, then we'd be enormously grateful if you could send it through.

And if you know someone who attended on Sunday, PLEASE SHARE THIS POST so we have the best possible chance of reaching everyone.

Thank you. ❤️

Sometimes running a small business really does throw you a curveball... 😔

❤️ Nina Margaret Carter — 94 Years of Wonderful Memories

At 94 years young, the lovely Nina Lives in a Nursing Home Kingsmeadows. She recently caught the Bus to Newstead for her regular appointment with Dr Philip. Arriving early, she Enjoyed a Coffee and wandered around Newstead’s little shops☕️💛Nina worked in the Law Courts for 30 years and Loved every Moment. When she had to retire at 65, she found it difficult to Leave the work she Loved so much.

Originally from Melbourne, Nina later worked in Western Australia and Lived in Cottesloe near the Beautiful Indian Ocean. Her mother came from Scotland and was a nurse. After moving to Australia, she fell in Love with Nina’s father, and together they built a very Happy family.
Nina Loves Hockey. 🏑 She played for Victoria Club and Later, when she moved to Tasmania, joined a Hockey club in Launceston.

One of Nina’s favourite Childhood memories was going paddle-Boating with her cousin. Back in those days, they would pay just one penny for a paddle-boat ride. 🛶 One day, their boat stopped in the Middle of the Lake, and they returned Home very Late! They were in terrible trouble with Mum and Dad, but it became one of Nina’s most treasured memories. Sadly, her Cousin recently passed away, making that Funny adventure even more Precious. Nina Spoke with So much gratitude about her parents. She said they always Looked after her with Kindness and made Sure she felt Deeply Loved—a Gift she continues to treasure at 94. ❤️

After sharing her story, Nina asked Bossman to walk around the shop with her. Holding his arm, she joked: 😂 Now I’ve got a young boyfriend!”

Before leaving, Nina said:

💛 Thank you for making my morning. God bless you.

I don’t know exactly why, but I felt such a Beautiful Connection with Nina. Maybe it was Her Pure and Honest words, Her Innocent Smile or the Happiness she carried. Some people touch your Heart without even trying, and Nina was one of those beautiful souls.

Nina, you said I made your morning—but meeting you truly made mine too. ❤️

Her message to everyone is Simple:

💛 Love and kindness within families make all the difference, especially while young ones are growing up.

❤️ Jan and Debi: A Moment of Connection and Kindness

Friendships built through shared bike rides and working together often run the deepest. Jan and Debi recently Enjoyed coffee at Our Little Café while crafting tiny Handmade Hearts for the worldwide 1000 Hearts project.☕🧶❤️These Little Stitched Hearts are given to hospitals, Cancer patients and People going through Difficult times—to remind them that Somebody Cares.

It was Debi’s first visit to Our Little Shop, but she Promised it wouldn’t be her Last! She Loved browsing around, especially admiring the Big Truck and Mirror at the entrance💛 Oh gosh, there’s so much to look at 😁

After three challenging years, Jan is Learning to Slow down and appreciate Life’s Little moments. When we asked for One message to share with Everyone Jan and Debi answered together:

💛 Be Kind.

Those Simple words brought tears to Jan’s eyes as she remembered a dear Friend who had passed away—someone who always cared for Others.
