Originally created by Seagram's in the late 1960s as a high-end label, the brand was later acquired by Sazerac in 1989 and brought home to the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky. The full name honors the pioneer McAfee brothers, James, George, and Robert, who surveyed the very land where the iconic Buffalo Trace Distillery stands today back in 1773.
