APCO thanks customers for patience as teams work to maintain fuel supply

We’ve seen an overwhelming response from our loyal customers in recent days. This strong demand has resulted in temporary stock shortages at all locations. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience and thank our customers for their patience and continued support while we work to replenish supply.

Since the start of March 2026, Apco has experienced an unprecedented increase in wholesale fuel costs. We assure our loyal customers, we have only adjusted pump prices in line with these increases, with Unleaded Petrol rising by approximately 44–46 cents per litre and Diesel by 60–70 cents per litre across the market.

Apco Director, Peter Anderson said “Our approach has always been to price fairly and responsibly. We are not increasing margins to take advantage of the situation, that simply is not in our DNA.”

While wholesale prices can fluctuate daily and are difficult to predict, we remain committed to providing customers with the best value possible.

We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding while we continue to restock and meet the heightened demand.

This afternoon reports surfaced online that APCO Waurn Ponds had run out of fuel amid panic buying sweeping the country due to the ongoing war in the Middle East.

In a statement, provided exclusively to Geelong 24/7 News First the service stations director, Peter Anderson said, “It’s important to stress that there isn’t currently a physical shortage of fuel in Australia.”

“Government ministers have recently reassured Australians that fuel stocks are secure through coming months, and that panic buying would only make things harder for everyone.”

“As always Apco will continue to honour our fuel pricing and not rise with the market because of media influence.”

“Apco is the more competitive retailer in town, that reflects our ongoing focus on efficient supply arrangements, fair margin settings and local pricing strategies.”

“We work hard to offer value for our customers rather than simply passing on costs at the highest possible rate.”

“Apco is committed to fair and honest fuel pricing, making sure motorists get competitive prices without compromising quality or service.”

About the role
Our Cafe team members give our customers a unique alternative to traditional Convenience service, with our barista made coffee, fresh made wraps and foccacias, home made jaffles, toasties and burgers. your job is constant. We are a company that strives for excellence in our business and in our team.

This is a part time position with a minimum of 15 hours a week up to 38 hours a week.
Must be available one weekend shift a week.
We are a 24 hour store so hours range through the day, evening and overnight.
