G’day Good Folk of The Upper Murray 🇳🇿⛰️
The General will be OPEN GOOD FRIDAY
10 am until 2 pm
for those desiring Food n Fish n Chips.
Easter Saturday, Sunday & Monday
We open 9am until 4 pm … 5 pm if busy.
2026 to date, has been a challenge for ALL!
First the Fires, Evacuees without homes, power outages, The Drought, The 45c days on end, a rogue flood, the “misinformation”that comes with fires and borders, road closures, the Victoria government (over reacting again) & closing campgrounds, the petrol crisis and now the late Desi Freeman hiding in our hills.
All summer our mountains were kindle.
Then the came the prayed for rain.
Two days later the terrain turned from brown n brittle to Green & Lush. Two days ! Phenomenal really.
Mother Nature is both brutal and brilliant.
Our mountains are rich again.
Just Not the Folk!
This week there’s cowboys, cops & campers with a splash of media, and a dash of normality.
Back to beauty. Surrounded by Spectacle.
I’m in Awe again. Fabulous community, & the work perk is meeting strangers who become friends l hadn’t met yet.
There’s a lot of beautiful souls on this planet 🌎 Thanks for the cards, tips & Love ❤️

Just letting you all know Jingellic is in tact.
Our farmers are all over the spot fires.
We’ve water trucks parked nearby if needed.
Today & tomorrow will be challenging with the wind expected to get up to 40 klm per hour & the temperature to 42C today.
Our Jingellic General Store will be open again until 8 pm ish ….. depending on the needs of the community.
I’ve great faith in our Royal Fire Service as these gals n guys have been through this nightmare in 2019 and as a result they are very well equipped, organised, calm and collected. I’d much rather be here surrounded by these legends than in another town with only a couple of fire trucks. 🚒
Time will tell.
Until then, take great care & be mindful of some road closures.

We open at 7 am New Years Day.
We have restocked the ICE & the WORMS & l’m thoroughly enjoying the energy of the little tackers boast about their catch of the day 🎣 It’s so joyous.
For a river town of 61 people Jingellic is buzzing, & the Murray river flows ❤️
Our Chef does The Royal Sausage, Pulled Pork rolls, Salad wraps, Omelettes , Hamburgers, Chicken burgers, Fried Foods, Panko Calamari, & Home Cooked Meals to go.
Jingellic is blessed with a myriad of beautiful souls, & magic mountains.
I feel so lucky ❤️

Good Afternoon Good Folk of the Snowy Mountains, The Mighty Murray, The Hillbillies & Flat landers…..
Where does the time go ? 🤦‍♀️
Seems we’ve skidded to November way too fast !!!
It’s 30c here today, the hills are green, the fish are biting & it’s hay making season in prep of the next drought to come.
We have Euro worms back in stock, ice, & red gum wood for campfires.
On the menu is breakfast options, & Hamburgers, chicken burgers, vegetarian options, salads, soups, pies, fried foods & my very favourite Panko Calamari etc etc..
There are never enough hours in the day ….but still BLESSED to be here ….
We swung back into our summer hours a month ago (7am-5pm Monday to Friday)
& Saturday, Sunday, 8am until 4 ish.
If the flags are flying, we’re open.
Chef is still making a variety of delicious meals, frozen for your convenience, & the rice comes free.
Our menu changes frequently, & always check out our “Specials” board.
Seems our steak sandwiches are far more sought after than our pulled pork rolls !
It is cattle country after all !
The winter warmers were a hit, & our pasta, popular ❤️
With the warmer weather upon us, our summer menu will be lighter, healthier, & bruschetta’s are back 😝😋
Thank you for your patience with the many hardships l’ve endured this year. No repeat expected!
I also feel compelled to express how very lucky l feel being in the position to meet some truly INCREDIBLE people!! Days can be full of such great souls, stories that never leave me, & strangers that become friends. We’ve had the shop 17 months now, & l still feel as if l live in a painting & work on a movie set, as one never knows what the day will bring. I LOVE this country community of characters, the acceptance of that, & the fabulous farmers that work their arses off!!
The mountains are Magic ❤️⛰️
