The hills are alive with Fisherman, Campers, Cyclists, Hunters, Brumbies, Rodeos, Rafters, motorcycles 🏍️, Stockmen, whipcrackers, working cattle dog, musterers, bush poetry, ute mustering,dog jump, Deer, kyaks, tractors pulling vans😳, cattle, calves, rivers, falls, sheep, wombats, kangaroos, emus, echidnas, foxes, birds, booze, & brazen.
Gotta love the “ fair dinkumness” of the Country Australians 🇦🇺

Happy Monday Mountain Folk 🇦🇺 ⛰️
It’s a great day to be alive 🥰
The hills are dry, the breeze warm & the mornings cool.
Our new Jingellic Store hours are 8 am to 4 pm or thereabouts.
If our Flags are Flying, we are open.
We open 7 days a week, & will close Tuesday afternoon to collect supplies.
Our winter Menu brings in The Chef’s Lasagna, & his signature Pasta Dishes.
Yummmmmmmm 😋
Our Beetroot, Quinoa Burgers with fried Halloumi are back on the Menu, & our freezer is stocked with home made meals.

Our landline is finally working!!!

Jack Riley lived in isolation for over 30 years in a hut high in the mountains at Tom Groggin Station in the shadow of the Australian Alps. Jack became a legendary figure in Australian folklore. Believed to be the inspiration behind Banjo Paterson’s iconic poem The Man From Snowy River, Riley’s connection to Paterson was formed through a meeting arranged by Walter Mitchell of Towong Station during a camping trip.

Corryong was Riley’s closest township. He would visit several times a year for supplies. Though he passed away on his way to the hospital in 1914, his legacy lives on through the annual Man From Snowy River Bush Festival, a vibrant celebration of the poem, bush life, arts, music, and horsemanship.

The Man From Snowy River Museum hosts a Remembrance Service for Jack Riley each year during the festival week, honouring his memory and spirit. It’s a must-see attraction when visiting the region along with the onsite replica of Jack’s hut.

Don’t miss The Man From Snowy River Bush Festival coming up this 10 – 13 April 2025, celebrating 30 years of this nationally beloved event!
