Today, we pause to honour the Anzacs—their courage, their sacrifice, and the unbreakable spirit that helped forge the identity of our nation. Lest we forget.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the generations of men and women from both sides of our family who answered the call to serve. Their legacy is woven into our history, and we remain forever thankful for their dedication. Lest we forget.

In particular, we remember my late father, Chief Petty Officer John Turner (Chief). We honour not only the uniform he wore with distinction but the man he was—defined by a profound strength, humility, and integrity that stayed with him well beyond his years of service.

Thank you, Dad. Your life remains our guiding light. Lest we forget.

A Launceston woman has won $2 million in Saturday’s TattsLotto draw, discovering her division one win just days before her birthday.

She held one of five winning entries nationally in the January 10 draw, telling officials she nearly forgot to buy a ticket.

The woman said the win felt “life-changing”, after checking her ticket over the weekend and struggling to believe it was real.

She plans to pay off her mortgage, invest, and help her parents.
