📖 Seventy years of marriage, a guinea pig with a paintbrush, and a few stories that’ll have you putting your cuppa down. The 26 October 2026 issue of that’s life! is in.

Let’s start with the feel-good stuff. There’s a platinum couple who’ve been together 70 years and are still completely smitten with each other. Then there’s Pig-casso, the guinea pig who paints. Honestly, we didn’t know we needed that story until we saw it.

There are some incredible survival stories too. One reader shares how her hero dad saved her life after an accident with a drill, and another woman tells how something as ordinary as cutting a melon turned into a frightening accident she was lucky to come through. There’s also a lovely story from a reader who felt her nan’s spirit give her a hug.

The issue also shares Jade’s story, a heartbreaking account of betrayal during her pregnancy. It’s a tough read, but an important one.

Ask any of us here and you'll get a different answer. Some go with birthdays, some swear by an old footy jersey number, and someone always picks whatever feels right on the day.

Oz Lotto is drawn tonight, Tuesday 13 October, with a $30 million Division 1 jackpot on offer. An in-store syndicate is a ready-made group entry that we put together here in the store. It's one larger entry split into shares, so instead of buying the whole thing, you buy a share of it. If the entry picks up a prize, it's divided between everyone in the syndicate based on how many shares they hold.

The nice thing is there's nothing for you to organise. No chasing friends for money or keeping track of who's paid, it's all set up and ready to go. Just come in, have a look at the in-store syndicates we've got available, and choose a share size that suits your budget. Our team is always happy to explain how each one works.

🎃 Halloween's on its way, and the Heelers have already sorted their costumes.

The latest issue of Bluey Magazine has landed and it's a spooky one. The friendly kind of spooky, don't worry. There's a trick or treat game, a page of spooky stickers, and some fruit bat puzzles to keep little hands busy on a rainy arvo.

If you've got a young artist at home, there's a learn to draw section full of scary stuff, plus a few magic tricks to try. I have a feeling that magic show might get performed for the whole family after dinner, whether you asked for it or not.

It's a good one to have on hand in the lead up to Halloween, or tucked away for a quiet afternoon. Pop in and grab a copy next time you're passing.
