Being a part of this community has been humbling and life changing for me.
My Dad was the inspiration behind me starting my life here just over 18 years ago ( half my life 😉 )
He was my anchor and teacher and such a big part of the success of the way the shop has become such a hub.
A shop like this takes a village!!!!
It takes your amazing team and the supportive community and in the background my family. My family is not often acknowledged for their part in the survival but they are every bit essential to the stores success.
It was a village to resurrect the store after the devastating 2022 floods. My family was part of the village that came to my aid, Including my brothers.
When my father passed just over a year ago my world spun. I didn’t know how to survive a world without my Dad in it. Let alone keep a shop without the anchor of my Dad who was my business partner. Not long after my relationship ended with my husband and then 6 months ago today my beautiful Rhino of a brother Shaun died in a motorcycle accident at the tender age of 41y.o.
Shaun is still the first name to come up on some of my accounts contacts to collect the stock we needed post flood to keep our community surviving.
Today I appreciate my village. Allllllll of my village. My family, friends, team, suppliers, community and contacts.
A store that can become a hub that can survive everything is a store I’m thankful to be a part of ###x
