Journey Well Worth It!
It may be a long journey coming up this weekend for our Junior drivers, but it is always worth it, with the Tyres & More Esperance Speedway always providing a venue worthy of a big show.
Six of our toughest drivers will be making their way down the highway, with five of them holding down the top five positions in the Junior Formula 500 Series and desperate to grab every single point they can!
Todd Pages (Pages Motorsport) enjoys a thirty-four-point lead in the series so far, three wins to his name in 2024/25 and keen to add more, in the process extending his lead in the series overall.
Raff Frisina (RF Motorsport) is currently second, having claimed two second place and two third place finishes in the feature races so far, but as yet as unable to break through for the West Coast Series feature win. Could this be the weekend it happens?
Max Lang (Max Lang Racing) comes into the show as the last start winner, having claimed his first ever feature win a few days ago at the Perth Motorplex. He would love to go back to back, but it is certainly a tough ask in this field!
Leah Heeps (Leah Heeps Motorsport) would also love to go back to back, but for her it would be in West Coast Series rounds. She claimed her maiden feature race victory at Bunbury early last month and she would love to continue her rise in the Junior Formula 500 ranks.
Lauren Hedington (Lauren Hedington Motorsport) has been quietly going about her business, though a couple of times this season she has shown some incredible speed. If she can put a whole night together she will certainly b tough to beat, and one would think her own maiden feature win isn’t far away!
The final driver in the field is also the newest to the division, in Mason Whitehead. Contesting just his second West Coast Series show he will be keen to continue building on his experience and challenging the rest of the field for some good results.
Once again, it is key to remember that the Junior drivers will again have the chance to play their Ace Card at the drivers meeting for each round to double their points. None of the drivers in the field this weekend have chosen to play it so far: will anyone make the call this weekend?
Be at Esperance Speedway this Saturday night to find out!
