New this week, a real beaut of a range of vermouth and aperitifs from

First of the rank is their Dirty Dry Vermouth. Think aromas of mint, green olive and fresh herbs layered of savoury pear and umami. An ideal match for a dirty martini, but also a delight paired with soda and a green olive.

NeXT we have their Per Spritz. A contemporary Australian take on a spritzable aperitif. Packed with peach, apricot, hops, strawberry. Cloudy, juicy, and driven by fruit salad flavours, a little herbs, plus a big hit of English Breakfast Tea. Dying for some Prosecco and soda as a classic spritz or try it wherever Campari or Aperol is called for.

And lastly we have their Rosso Vermouth, rich red plush plummy fruit, nutmeg, chocolate and plum upfront. Followed by a@tight bitterness on the back. Excellent anywhere sweet vermouth is called for.

Founded in 1884 and located in El Morell, Spain, Bodegas Yzaguirre draws on over a century of experience making vermouth. We have Three vermouths from their Reserva Range. All excellent quality and good value in their 1L format.

Couple of long awaited restocks this week for us and

All the way from Vancouver Island in Canada to us here in Australia. A big restock on the excellent Esquimalt Rosso Vermouth.

Built on a base of honey wine, this vermouth tastes of plums, figs, oranges and brown sugar with a cola, rosemary and cinnamon finish. Perfect for using anywhere Sweet Vermouth is called for and ideal for enjoying over ice with a generous orange peel.

A couple of new additions for us this week from excellent producer Michael Ryan of

Up To Eleven - big and bitter amaro leaning into heavy fernet territory. Bracing bitterness with notes of mint and spruce.

In The Weeds - herbal liqueur inspired by the great European classics. Most of the ingredients in this come directly from the immediate surrounds of Beechworth. Including nettle, dandelion, citrus leaves, gum leaves and herbs.

Bitters of the week are the oh so spicy Memphis BBQ Bitters from

Big flavours of chipotle, cumin, coffee, pepper. A perfect hit of smoky southern American barbecue.

Great paired with whiskey, tequila or mezcal. We love it in a Whiskey Sour, especially with a rich brown sugar or Demerara syrup as the sweetener.
