Running a store takes all kinds - and a whole lot of care.
At Tucker Fresh IGA, we’re lucky to have a team made up of all sorts of people — including some who live with allergies themselves, or know what it’s like to shop with someone who does.
So today, on World Allergy Day (yep, it’s a thing - July 8, recognised by the World Health Organization!), we wanted to shine a light on the quiet heroes who help make shopping safer for everyone.
💚 The label readers – checking and double-checking ingredients for hidden allergens
💚 The clean freaks – keeping prep areas spotless and reducing risk
💚 The good listeners – taking the time to really hear what customers need
💚 And the ones with lived experience – who bring empathy and real insight into everything they do
This year’s focus is anaphylaxis – the most serious kind of allergic reaction. It’s a reminder that what might be a casual choice for some can be life-changing for others.
