🎉 Powerball has jackpotted to $100 million.
It's a big number, and it's already the talk of the counter this week. The draw is on Thursday 15 October, and there's plenty of time to grab an entry before then.

Seven numbers from 1 to 35, plus one Powerball from 1 to 20. Everyone seems to have a favourite way to play it.

So what's your go-to, a QuickPick, your own numbers, or a PowerHit?

👥 Ever thought about playing Powerball as part of a group?
Powerball has a $60 million jackpot this Thursday 8 October, and big jackpot weeks are usually when we get the most questions about in-store syndicates.

An in-store syndicate is a ready-made group entry that we put together here in the store. It's one larger entry split into shares, so instead of buying the whole thing, you buy a share of it. If the entry picks up a prize, it's divided between everyone in the syndicate based on how many shares they hold.

The nice thing is there's nothing for you to organise. No chasing friends for money or keeping track of who's paid, it's all set up and ready to go. Just come in, have a look at the in-store syndicates we've got available, and choose a share size that suits your budget. Our team is always happy to explain how each one works.

Would you rather play on your own, or as part of an in-store syndicate?

🎯 Ever wondered how a System entry actually works?
Oz Lotto has a $20 million jackpot this Tuesday 6 October, so it feels like a good week to explain one of the ways to play that people often ask us about at the counter.

With a standard Oz Lotto game, you choose 7 numbers. With a System entry, you choose more than 7, and your entry covers every possible combination of 7 from the numbers you've picked. So a System 8 means you choose 8 numbers, which works out to 8 games. A System 9 covers 36 games, all built from your 9 numbers.

Because your numbers are spread across all those games, the same drawn numbers can match in more than one of them. That means a single System entry can collect prizes across several games or divisions at once. The flip side is that more games means a higher entry price, so have a chat with our team and we'll help you find a System size that suits your budget.

Have you ever played a System entry, or do you stick with 7 numbers?

🎃 Halloween's on its way, and the Heelers have already sorted their costumes.

The latest issue of Bluey Magazine has landed and it's a spooky one. The friendly kind of spooky, don't worry. There's a trick or treat game, a page of spooky stickers, and some fruit bat puzzles to keep little hands busy on a rainy arvo.

If you've got a young artist at home, there's a learn to draw section full of scary stuff, plus a few magic tricks to try. I have a feeling that magic show might get performed for the whole family after dinner, whether you asked for it or not.

It's a good one to have on hand in the lead up to Halloween, or tucked away for a quiet afternoon. Pop in and grab a copy next time you're passing.

What's the costume plan at your place this year? 👻

You can always tell when someone's found a good funny card in our store. There's a little snort, then they turn around to show whoever came in with them 🎂

We love helping people find the right one. "Something for my brother", "something that'll make Dad laugh", "something a bit rude but not too rude". We know the range inside out, so whether you're after cheeky, sarcastic or just plain silly, we'll point you in the right direction.

🍰 The November Better Homes and Gardens has landed, and it's a good mix of things to bake, make and grow.

Let's start with the cover, because that Chocolate Tim Tam Bavarian with salted caramel is hard to walk past. If you've got a birthday or an early Christmas catch-up coming up, this could be your showstopper. There are also some easy one-tray meals for those weeknights when nobody wants to do the dishes.

Out in the garden there's a whole Step Outside section, with mosaic stepping stones, fairy toadstools with Geneva, and some practical ideas on accessible gardening. You'll also find tips for a lawn the neighbours might get a bit jealous of, plus flowering trees for shade and colour.

And if you're already dreaming about a getaway, they've rounded up 16 of the best cruises for exploring natural wonders.
Pop in and grab your copy next time you're in.

So what's catching your eye first, the Tim Tam dessert or the garden projects?

🧩 Fancy a puzzle that actually makes you think for once?

Issue 240 of Lovatts Cluewords just landed, and it's a good one for anyone who loves getting stuck into a proper crossword. You've got a giant full page Arrowords, a double page MAXI, and the Cluewords format itself, where the clue sits right there in the square instead of off to the side. If you haven't tried clue in square puzzles before, this issue is a good place to start.

There's also a solid celebrity and trivia section this time round, with a bit of La La Land nostalgia via Emma Stone, plus general knowledge trivia to test yourself or the family on a quiet afternoon. And there are some genuinely good prizes running across the issue too, worth a look while you're at it.

Pop in and grab a copy, we've got it in stock now.

What's your puzzle of choice, crosswords, arrowords, or something trickier again?
