I’ll take accountability for that and even include my full name, i, Marika Gava, did actually see these lemons and truth be told got sidetracked. We are human.
I’m frustrated that the staff didn’t go and deal with it after they had brought that to their attention and I’ll make sure to chat with them about it.
We are all only human and make mistakes and can take constructive criticism….
Whilst I know this lemon issue has been turmoil for some today, do you want to know what’s be turmoil for small family businesses?
Illegal cigarette sales wiping out trade.
Government excise making it harder to meet supply and demand.
Increase in costs but stressing about passing that cost on to customers as you know and understand the cost of living right now is taking its toll.
Replying to messages and emails requesting you to donate to this cause, support this local sporting team, sponsor this or advertise here.
Raising a young family, whilst also navigating staff and their family circumstances. Wanting to support and provide a working environment that small family business’ pride themselves on.
The lemon boxes can be picked up and could have be brought over, they could have asked for the owners name so you could ring me tomorrow and speak to me about the issue. You could have grabbed those lemons and taken them over to the staff.
So many options to try, but rather post on social media, gain traction and “humiliate” an already fragile state of mind small business owner was the option.
I take accountability for the lemons, it is a job we do regularly to check fruit and vegetables, it’s not done perfectly every time as per evidence posted…
I hope those of you who are offended by the decent people who have “defended” my small business sleep well tonight, unbeknownst to you the actual fragile state of mind a small business owner ~ me ~ is currently feeling….
I hope that your child doesn’t play sport, doesn’t want a job one day where they are more than a number, that you may never be in a position to need to organise a raffle due to dire circumstances, and that the bananas on your bench never turn to being beyond banana cake worthy. …
Can confirm lemons were disposed of not long after customer had left.
