Autobarn Carina International Speedway apologises to its many fans, sponsors, drivers, officials and volunteers for the reprogramming of its meeting to be held on the 10th and 11th January.
Unfortunately, and disappointingly, the Super Sedans and Micro Sprints did not support the double header, leaving the track no option but to revert to a one night show on the Saturday. Friday night is now scheduled as an open practice for all divisions of speedway. Details are on an earlier post.
FARMALL RUM CITY RUMBLE
Are you ready to rumble? The annual Farmall Rum City Rumble has attracted 24 of the top Production drivers including the regular Carina Whizz Kids, Billy MacDonald, Bryce and Mitch Bayfield and Kaine Richters. They have a license to thrill. Brandon Atto from Mackay makes his first appearance at Carina this season along with Rockhamptons Kory Jennings and Braith Hogan. Adding Gympie’s Aaron Sander and Neil Keldoulis. Add Kingaroys Ian Bell and Maryboroughs Josh Jarius and Sam Grundy to the mix and this should be one belter of a 30 lap A Main. Great to see Bryce Bayfield nominate as he had a monumental rollover along the top of the concrete fence at Warnambool Speedway in his Wingless last weekend.
STREET STOCKS TO THE RESCUE
A last minute callout to the Streeties to supplement the program has resulted in eleven nominations being received in 12 hours. Two interesting nominations are Terry Hough and Stan Petersen behind the wheel of the HST cars. The battle between Kane Heidke, Xak Cooney and Beau Pieters should be a feature. A much improved Mike Wenham could be the one to watch.
AMCA NATIONALS.
An impressive field of 17 nominations has been received including the Australian Champion, Bruce Marshall along with Shane McKinnell, Steve Potts and Joel Curd.
This revised program will certainly make for an interesting and full night of racing with over 50 cars nominated. With the disappointment of the Super Sedans and Micro Sprints, the Carina Team never gave up on presenting a competitive race meeting for the drivers and fans.
