This gorgeous little Sacred Kingfisher certainly had a big morning at Bowhill General Store.

After an unfortunate encounter with a glass door, a possible injured leg, and an unexpected adventure inside the store, he found himself stuck on a shelf and in need of a helping hand.

Thankfully, he was soon chirping away, and with a little assistance, he was safely on his way back to the trees.

We’re so happy this little fella was able to keep flying!

A little appreciation for our amazing team!

Anyone who works in hospitality knows the amount of energy it takes to get through those long, busy shifts. Lunch is often the odd chip grabbed on the run, and sometimes we don’t get a chance to eat properly until 3–4pm or even later!

We’re not complaining — it’s simply the reality of hospitality. We do our best to keep our staff fed and hydrated, but during those peak times, even a quick break can be a challenge! So, if someone serving you seems a little less cheerful than usual, they might just be HANGRY! 😂

Our favourite way to burn off that leftover energy after work is getting outside with our wonderfully patient children — kicking a ball, playing chase and enjoying some much-needed family time. ❤️

After an incredibly busy weekend, we want to say a HUGE thank you to our amazing staff, who turn up, work hard and keep pushing through, often hungry, thirsty and in need of a pit stop — all without complaining!

And to our wonderful customers, thank you for your patience, kindness, understanding and continued support.

We appreciate every one of you and hope we make each visit a memorable one.

What an amazing day we’ve had!

Beautiful weather, plenty of visitors, and a couple of very special sights on the river.

The PS Marion docked this afternoon for an overnight stay, and tonight we had the pleasure of watching the Murray Princess cruise past.

Days like this remind us just how lucky we are to be right here on the beautiful Murray River.

Thank you to everyone who came to visit and share the day with us. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did! xx
