Say Gday to the man taking the good stuff across Queensland, Evan.

Best described as Energetic, positive, and just an all-round legend.

To get to know him better we fired a couple of quick questions at him.

Q. What’s is role at white oat distillery?
A. Queensland Brand Ambassador, my role essentially introduces our spirits to customers around Queensland to use in commercial applications with cocktails and mixer ideas to suit the venues. It’s something I enjoy, if you haven’t met me, you will soon realise I don’t mind a chat.

Q. What do you do when you’re not chatting with customers, having a drink or playing golf?
A. Fishing and surfing are definately next in line.

Q. What lead you to wanting to be in Distillery sales? What’s your advice to anyone wanting to do the role?
A. After a short laugh…. After being in hospitality for most of my life, I saw it as the next steps in career progression, its something that I saw a room to grow and learn.

My advice be willing to put in the hard yard’s; it definitely has plenty of positives. I really enjoy still working / having a drink with everyone in the hospitality industry while also wearing multiple hats as only a startup business can offer.

Q. What’s your dream holiday and why?
A. It would be getting a sailboat and travelling the pacific for 6 months, finding the secluded surf and fishing spots.

Apple Pie Fizz

Ingredients
45ml Orange Maple Rum
15ml Cointreau
30ml Apple Juice
20ml Cinnamon Syrup (recipe below)
Float with Coca Cola

Method
- Add Rum, Cointreau, Apple Juice and Cinnamon Syrup to cocktail shaker with ice, shake for 30 seconds
- Strain into a rocks glass over ice
- Float with Coca cola to top up glass
- Garnish with an Orange slice

Cinnamon Syrup
250ml Water
250g Brown Sugar
2 – 3 Ceylon Cinnamon Sticks

- Add Cinnamon, Sugar and Water to a saucepan and stir over medium heat until sugar is dissolved
- Bring simmer for 3mins then remove from heat
- Leave to steep for 1 hour
- Strain through coffee filter or cheesecloth
- Transfer to bottle or container and refrigerate

Chilli Sunset
A little heat, a lot of tropical.

Bright citrus, juicy passionfruit and pineapple meet a subtle chilli kick, this one’s made for golden hour sipping.

Ingredients
30mL Chilli Mango
15mL Aperol
30mL pineapple juice
20mL passionfruit pulp
10mL lime juice
10mL sugar syrup

Method
- Add all ingredients to cocktail shaker with ice, shake for 30 seconds.
- Single strain into a rocks glass over ice
- Garnish with a Mint sprig and Orange wedge

ANZAC Old Fashioned
A modern classic with a nostalgic twist.

Rich, warming and beautifully balanced. Buttery whisky meets subtle sweetness and bright citrus for a refined sip.

Ingredients
60ml White Oat Buttermalt Bliss Whisky
** 10ml ANZAC Biscuit syrup
2 dashes orange bitters

Method
Stir over ice until well chilled.
Double strain over a large ice cube in a rocks glass.

Garnish
Golden syrup drizzle with crushed ANZAC biscuit rim
Expressed orange peel

**ANZAC Biscuit Syrup (Yields approx. 200ml)

Ingredients
500ml water
300g brown sugar
100g golden syrup
40g rolled oats
30g desiccated coconut
Pinch of salt

Method
- Lightly toast the rolled oats and desiccated coconut in a saucepan over low–medium heat until golden and aromatic.
- Add water, brown sugar, golden syrup, and salt. Stir to combine.
- Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 10–15 minutes at a light boil.
- Reduce heat and allow to steep for 20–30 minutes.
- Strain while hot through a fine filter (coffee filter or cheesecloth recommended).
- Re-filter 2–3 times until the liquid is clear and free of sediment.

Tip: Gently reheat if the syrup cools and begins to clog the filter. Use a fresh filter each time. Allow to cool completely before bottling or use.

Meet Mexicali Pirate, a swashbuckling tequila-rum hybrid made for rule breakers and treasure hunters alike. Spiced and spliced to perfection, this limited-edition Distiller’s Choice is bursting with pineapple and lime, then aged in tequila barrels for an extra hit of oak.

Nose: Lime, tequila and flashes of pineapple
Taste: Tequila upfront, oak in the middle, warm rum and pineapple sailing through the tail
Mouthfeel: Light, warm, and dangerously moreish
