If you missed Big Reds and are thinking "I'd like to learn about 'Bubbles'" why not join Grape Talks at the White Crystal Inn, Saturday, and sample some traditional French Champagne (why yes, I do know saying 'French' here, is a little redundant) some Spanish Cava (redundant? Ditto) and some Traditional Method Okanagan sparkling wines. And and and... at the same time earn 500 university credits! Not really, but maybe a couple of kudos points - true story.

So... Big White Ski Resort opens tomorrow. I know, very exciting... right?!?

Are you gonna ski...? Or are you gonna celebrate by drinking champagne...? I know, I know. Ski right? Or that other thing, what do they call it... snowboarding.

But but but... just in case you're wondering 'does the The Wine Cellar have any champagne...?' The answer is yes. Including some V***e Clicquot, La Grande Dame 2015. No, I have not tasted it, good grief man, I can't afford that! I'm not sure but around $500 plus those, you know, pesky taxes.

Did you know... V***e Clicquot was started in 1772 by Philippe Clicquot? But that's not the interesting bit... in 1805 his son Francois died and Francois 27 year old widow took the reins, with a loan from er... somebody (true story). Can you imagine. A 27 year old woman, taking over a Champagne house, in 1805 - I'm not even sure women could do anything in 1805 (legally, I mean). Not only that, she (all by herself) turned V***e Clicquot into the empire it is today. Sometimes, I can't even get out of bed.

Anyhoo... if you're thinking to yourself 'I wanna find out what a $500 bottle of champagne tastes like...' casually stroll over to the The Wine Cellar (cos they're probably not gonna sell out, not until New Year anyway) and pick one up.

There is a six bottle limit, cos er... there are only six bottles available.
