Guys! It's a collaboration post!!
It's been a while since we've celebrated the magical results of two great minds meeting over the brew kettle. When an unstoppable force meets an immovable object in the brewing world, they don't clash—they create something epic! I'm not one to discuss personal history, but as someone who lost their house in the 2007 Malibu fires, I want to share a few pieces of advice.

Support Each Other – Everyone is struggling in their own way. Be patient, be kind, and help where you can. Just people helping people. For the time being, let's keep politics and religion out of this, unless it's positive, these topics can be extra stressful for someone going through a major loss.

Donate Directly & Avoid Scams – Some companies asking for donations are just trying to look good while getting a tax write-off. Donate directly to reputable organizations like , ,

DIY Air Purifier (Corsi-Rosenthal Box) – Save money and protect yourself from poor air quality. A simple box fan and four air filters can make a huge difference. It's cheap and very effective. Check real time air quality at sites like iqair.com

Boil Your Water – Smoke and ash can impact water quality, and our pipes are ancient! Until officials confirm it's safe, boil your water to be extra careful.

Take Photos of Your Belongings NOW – If your home is at risk, document everything. Insurance companies will fight you on every penny. Be prepared.

Today marks a bittersweet chapter for our neighborhood as we bid farewell to a true culinary landmark. Plan Check is closing its doors for good, leaving us heavy-hearted but filled with gratitude for the years of delicious memories.

This came as a sudden shock to many, especially the dedicated staff who were informed with less than 24 hours' notice. We want to shout out to the amazing manager Jocelyn, the badass servers Michelle, Angel, and Juan, and the incredibly hardworking kitchen crew. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed, and we’re here to support you through this transition.

Stop by Plan Check today to say your goodbyes and show some love for the team that made it more than just a restaurant, but a piece of our community. Try to swing by before 3 PM, and maybe bring some cash!

They're still a bunch of badasses, but maybe just a touch less so.
Well, except for Frodo because, in truth, Sam was the MVP of that series.

Ladies and gentlemen, we're sending a big Happy Birthday shout-out to our very own Sam, our dear Jennifer! For almost eight solid years, she has been pivotal to making Blackbeard's the legend it is. From sourcing exotic candies from all corners of the earth to discovering some of the rarest beers, Jen has done it all. Her efforts have truly helped keep our doors open this long!

Among the many adventures we've shared, one of our favorites has been watching Jen rise to the helm of the company. She's evolved from a teenage prankster to a mischief maestro. And we wouldn't have it any other way.

How do we show our appreciation for the loyalty and love she's shown us? Simply by debuting our first-ever T-shirt featuring a hilariously embarrassing baby pic of her. By the end of March, we'll be releasing not one, but two T-shirts, with this gem leading the charge!

And the best part? She's out of town, so there's no stopping our little plan.

Until then, let's fill the comments with birthday wishes for her to come back to a fun surprise to return to after she's done kicking our butts.
