Ever wonder who Derby Date Night is?
🎥 Derby Date Night streamed our Indy Playoffs, and they've made it their mission to bring quality live streaming and play-by-play coverage to the roller derby community. They love highlighting skaters and giving fans near and far a way to experience roller derby. Through their live chat, they also connect with their "third wheel" community and keep viewers engaged throughout the game.
🏅 So, what's a Skater of the Game sticker?
As the game unfolds, standout plays and performances catch the attention of viewers and commentators. By halftime, four skaters are nominated for Skater of the Game.
Nominations can come from:
• Someone in the live chat
• One of the commentators alongside Aria Kiddinme
• Aria Kiddinme herself
• Or even Sirius Lee - the talent behind the camera
During the second half, viewers vote in the chat, and the skater with the most votes wins the coveted Skater of the Game sticker!
A skater can only win once per season, but if they don't win, they can be nominated again in future games.
We've heard that several skaters have even framed their stickers! If you're one of them, drop a photo in the comments—we'd love to see it. 🖼️
