It’s late, but life happens - 10 tickets for our June 21st dig are now open!!

To claim them, message our page with the word “Azurite!” Leading the message, and then how many spots you want, with 2 paying adults maximum per message.

I will respond to the first people who message in the order I receive them and confirm their spots. If you don’t hear back, you will be put on the backup list also in the order i receive you message.

Remember, it’s $40 cash entry per adult over 16 and that includes your first bucket of material, and $20 per extra bucket after that.

Our first dig of 2025 was a great success, the folks from St. Louis Mineral & Gem Society left with tons of material, including one of our drivers. He saw a small piece of calcite sticking out of the pile, and when he pulled on it, the gorgeous dogtooth calcite below came out. This hill is still full of them, and as we explore more and dig more, who know what will come out! I found the smaller one, which is covered in black copper ore, which was the chase mineral at Copper Valley when the mine was originally open.

Our next dig is June 21st and our guests will be the White River Rock Club. I will open up the remaining 10 spots to whoever is quick enough to get them on June 1st. Be ready, I’ll post sometime after Noon on that day!

Our second mining day for this year is June 21st, and as of today, we have 10 open spots available.

This is fair warning that I will be opening those up to the public to claim on Sunday, June 1st.

Hello all!

Next week is the first day the mine is open, and our guests are the St. Louis Mineral & Gem Society.

With that said, we have room for two people for the mine on the 17th - if you would like to come, the the first couple to PM me will get those spots, or the two singles - no additional guests or kids will be allowed with those spots, however, so be aware of that before you message!

Our May 17th opening day has been sold out! Thanks to the St. Louis Mineral & Gem Society for committing to bringing 40 folks to the mine!

Look for spots to open soon for our June 21st date to be announced somewhere around May 20th!

Dates!

Wanted to get us into April before dates are announced, but, here they are! Note: All digs will open around a month prior to the date, and will be very quickly taken, so make sure you are following the page closely!! And, back to previously posted advice, joining one of the first following rock clubs almost guarantees you a spot!

May 17th - St Louis Gem and Mineral Society have booked the day, but, there may be some extra spots open for folks to come!

June 21st - White River Rock Club will be in the house, extra spots will open sometime around May 20th!

July 12th - Mineral Area Gem and Mineral will be digging, but extras will open up sometime around June 1st!

August 9th - Mississippi Valley Mineral will have a small group down, expecting a good amount of open spots for this day, will open those up around July 4th!

August 30th - Badger Lapidary and Geological Society will be in town, but should have a good amount of open spots!

Pay attention to our page, other dates may open up, or a group may cancel, or anything may happen!

I want to encourage everyone to join one of the rock clubs in the area! They do field trips, they have meetings with great shared information and community, and this year at CVM, I am offering them first choice at dates we will be open.

Two for the St Louis/Missouri area that are booked for this year are the St. Louis Mineral & Gem Society and the Mineral Area Gem and Mineral Society.

Another group not booked for CVM but who does tons of digs in MO mines is James Johnson ‘s group MO Rock Collecting & Digs. He has access to some extremely lucrative and premium locations that no one else has access to.

I strongly recommend joining either or both organizations, especially if you want fairly guaranteed access to the mine this year. Further, as they do other trips to other mines and digging spots, you’ll have exclusive access to those places as well, some that are not available to anyone else.
