Happy 4th everyone! I blessed to come home with 14th chicken, 6th ribs, 5th brisket and 1st place pork for my 1st GC. Congrats to for his reserve and to all those that made the walk. Wish I could of made my pork box look a little neater but it didn’t hurt me.

Nice weekend for in Ballinger, Tx. I was pretty happy with all my turn ins but it was the last call brisket that came through. This was cooked “old school” wrapped in butcher paper, no sauce using brisket rub along with Rust Dust on my drum. Congrats to Beast Bbq on their GC and my good buddy for his RGC. Thanks to for my gear this weekend.

2nd place chicken and FT ribs and brisket 🤷🏻‍♂️ was enough for 10th overall at the Cacahuate cookoff in downtown Floresville this weekend. got it started with some bad ass fajitas Friday night cooked just right with some provided by . Thanks to for the tasty Rust Dust and for the nice hat I got last weekend, much appreciated guys!

Made my 1st tri tip ever for Mother’s Day lunch. Seasoned with just olive oil and camp fire steak seasoning. Reverse seared on my OK Joe bronco with lump and couple chunks of mesquite. Came out pretty good, I’ll have to cook these more often.

Late post .. but last weekend El primero onion aka and I made the trek up to Amarillo to cook in the CBA Bomb City cookoff. We were able to get out of our chairs a few times with a big 1st chicken, 8th ribs and a 6th place brisket. Pork was 14th among 30+ teams. Good enough for a 5th place overall! Huge congrats to for his GC and brother James aka for his RGC. Big thanks to for hosting a great cook off and for for letting us borrow a couple drum smokers. Also thanks to for his chingon hospitality! Truly appreciate it bros! I was also able to score a new hat from Mr. himself.. always good hanging with you!
