The first clean-up day for the Calistoga Fairgrounds is Saturday October 19, 2024, from 9:00am to 1:00pm. RSVP is not required, and all participants will be required to sign a waiver form prior to starting work. Parents will need to sign for minors.
Friends of Napa County Fairgrounds will be leading teams to improve the RV Campground and other outdoor areas near the Butler Pavilion. We may also be asked to provide volunteers that day for areas associated with the speedway.
Volunteers should bring any of the following items if they have them
• Drinking water for themselves
• Leaf rakes
• Garden Rakes
• Garden or work gloves
• Pruning loppers
• Pruning shears
• Cordless leaf blowers - Gas powered are not allowed per city ordinance
• Gas or battery-operated w**d eaters with all associated fuel & trimmer line
◦ Proper safety glasses & gear are required
It is suggested that you mark your tools with your name and phone number in case you get separated from them, so they may be returned to you.
The primary goal is to prepare the RV campground for reopening. Focus will be on leaf removal, trash collection and pruning at ground level. Calistoga Fire Department will be on hand with chain saws to cut larger limbs as needed. Dumpsters for both green waste and trash will be provided, and tractors will scoop up piles of leaves into the dumpsters.
All volunteers will meet at the great lawn area to sign in and submit waiver forms. From there, they will be directed to walk to the area they are interested in assisting with. All parking will be on the great lawn.
