Our Story
Zap and Dash was born from resilience, survival, and the belief that everyone deserves to feel safe and empowered in their own life. As a survivor of domestic abuse, a recovering addict, and someone who has experienced homelessness, I know firsthand how difficult it can be to rebuild your life after trauma. My journey has taught me that safety, support, and opportunity can be life-changing.
Starting over was not easy, but recovery gave me the chance to rebuild my life with purpose. Zap and Dash represents that new beginning. It is more than just a self-defense supply business—it is a mission to help others protect themselves, feel stronger, and know that they are not alone.
Zap and Dash provides practical and affordable personal safety tools such as pepper spray, personal alarms, tactical flashlights, and safety kits. These products are designed to give people simple ways to increase their safety and confidence in everyday situations. The business currently operates online and plans to open a retail storefront in Rocky Ford, Colorado, serving rural communities in Otero County and surrounding areas where access to specialty safety products is limited.
My goal is not only to run a successful small business, but to use it as a platform for giving back. Zap and Dash will donate 1% of all proceeds to organizations that support women affected by domestic violence, helping provide resources, advocacy, and support services for survivors who are trying to rebuild their lives.
As someone who has walked through addiction, homelessness, and abuse, I understand how powerful it is when someone believes in you or when a door opens that allows you to start again. Through Zap and Dash, I hope to create that same sense of empowerment for others—both by helping people feel safer and by supporting organizations that help women fight back and reclaim their lives.
Zap and Dash stands as proof that recovery and resilience can lead to meaningful change. This business represents not only my personal transformation, but also a commitment to strengthening my community, supporting survivors, and creating opportunities for others who are working to rebuild their lives.
