On September 25, DNR staff made a special visit to Tahquamenon Falls State Park to celebrate an incredible milestone. Kim and Jake Bowler are the holders of the DNR’s 1 millionth camp night reservation of 2026.

Surprised right at their campsite, the couple was greeted by staff and gifted baskets with local goodies, including a $150 state park and harbor gift card. Long-time visitors to Tahquamenon Falls, Kim and Jake especially love camping during the Harvest Festival (which just so happened to be that same weekend!).

Kim and Jake are one in a million!

Today DNR staff celebrated them at Tahquamenon Falls State Park where they were the holder of the one millionth camp night reservation this year! Kim and Jake were surprised at their campsite by DNR staff and given gift baskets filled with lots of local goodies! They have ben regular campers at Tahquamenon Falls State Park for many years and especially love camping during the Harvest Festival (which happens to be this weekend)!

Congratulations Kim and Jake! We hope you enjoy your winnings and thank you for camping with us.

✨ What you’ll do:
• Provide excellent customer service
• Help customers find the perfect souvenirs
• Prepare café food and drinks
• Operate our POS system and handle payments
• Stock and maintain our gift shop & café
• Help with opening, closing & daily cleaning
• Work as part of a fun, fast-paced team

🌿 What we’re looking for:
✔️ Friendly & positive attitude
✔️ Dependable and punctual
✔️ Comfortable multitasking in a busy environment
✔️ Great communication skills
✔️ Able to stay on your feet and do some lifting throughout the day

We've got lots of fun programs coming up! To name a few...

Arrows Away!: Come learn the basics of archery and practice using a compound bow.

Evening Presentations: "Tahquamenon History," "Michigan Moose," and "Squirrel Safari." These evening presentations are great for older kids and adults, but all ages are welcome.

Ranger Play, "Tahquamenon Cryptids": Come see park staff perform a uniquely strange and original play and learn about animal adaptations.
