Join us to explore two family-run vineyards—one storied, one fresh—from Burgundy and Languedoc.

⚪️2023 H & L Lignier – Bourgogne Aligoté “Aux Poirelots”
This special Aligoté comes from vines planted in the 1940s and shines with its crisp, dry profile. Chardonnay is of course the most important white variety in Burgundy, but Aligoté makes compelling wines such as this one too!

🔴 2021 Domaine de la Barthassade – Terrasses du Larzac “Les Ouvrées”
This blend of Syrah, Mourvèdre, and a splash of Grenache is the brainchild of Hélène and Guillaume Baron, a young duo who left Burgundy to forge a precise, targeted winemaking style in the Terrasses du Larzac. Farming organic plots across three communes and using natural fermentation w gentle pressing to minimize harsh tannins and create elegant, pure wines. This is aged 22 months in concrete eggs and oak barrels, this wine offers a sleek, modern view of the Languedoc.

⚪️The 2023 Battistelle - Soave D.O.C. Classico. 100% Garganega which thrives in the volcanic basalt soils of Grognoligo, a small hamlet in Verona. This family-run, organic winery embraces traditional viticulture, using a pergola training system and hand-harvesting grapes, a rarity for most mass produced Soave. This is a harmonious and versatile wine, approachable right from the bottle and incredible complexity for such a modest price.

🔴The 2022 Foradori Teroldego Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT is produced from vineyards planted on the sandy, dolomitic soils deposited by the Noce River. Elisabetta Foradori is a treasured, distinguished winemaker and leading producer. She has dedicated decades to perfecting her craft and making a name for her winery on the border of Trentino and Alto-Adige in northern Italy. Her commitment to biodynamic farming and meticulous hand-harvesting yields both drinkable and age-worthy wines. This wine offers a unique opportunity to explore a resurgent regional variety she’s helped make so famous, delivering exceptional quality at a compelling price and in a very approachable style of Terodolgo!

We are excited to be welcoming Luc Prieur of Domaine Paul Prieur to the shop for a tasting tomorrow evening at 5:30pm. Since 2012, Luc Prieur has run this historic property at the base of the Monts Damnés and is the 11th generation Prieur to make Sancerre wines. His progressive farming techniques married with a pragmatic, rather traditional, old school, low-intervention style in the winery produces laudable results. Luc makes incredible Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir from Sancerre’s greatest terroirs! Come check them out!

🇪🇸🇪🇸Saturday Tasting!!🇪🇸🇪🇸

Join us on 3/22 from 2:30-5:30 to taste benchmark wines from Catalonian producer Cims de Porerra.

Cims de Porrera distinguishes itself not only among regional cooperatives but also within the broader Priorat landscape, driven by a mission to revitalize the Priorat region, especially the village of Porrera, through social and economic initiatives. They work with local farmers to produce world class Garnacha and Cariñena planted on the classic Licorella slate soils with dramatic, steep slopes and old vines which contribute to their wines unique character. These are delicious, extremely drinkable, elegant versions of Priorat - a nice reprieve from a region known to produce overblown, highly tannic and alcoholic wines! This is a high quality project well worth supporting! Cims de Porrera invests in the future of the region by allocating profits to a foundation that provides research funding and scholarships for local youth studying viticulture and enology.

We’ll taste:

🔴 The 2018 Priorat Vi De Villa which is a Carignan and Grenache blend, a quintessential Priorat red.

⚪️ The 2021 Priorat Blanco Vi De Vila is a blend of Macabeo, Garnacha Blanca and Picapoll Blanc.

🔴The 2022 Morgon ‘Vieilles Vignes’ is the latest installment from low intervention winemaker Georges Descombes. This northern Beaujolais gem undergoes extended bottle aging, creating a silky and elegant wine with smooth tannins.

⚪️2023 Clos de la Vierge Jurancon Sec, is a staple of southwest France. 100% Gros Manseng from old vines grown in limestone rich soils offers a strong complement of minerality and structure.

a chardonnay clone hailing from the ancient soils of the Jura.

Our 2021 Clos Venturi - Brama Sciaccarellu comes from high altitude sandstone soils in Corsica. This extremely quaffable, versatile red is one of our go to wines for everyday enjoyment!

A quintessential value burgundy, the 2022 Philippe Jouan - Coteaux Bourguignons is 100% Pinot Noir from old vines in the limestone rich soils of Morey-Saint-Denis - tough to beat for pleasure and price!

Domaine Mayard embodies this shift, crafting regeneratively farmed wines with elegance and a refreshing lift - a stark contrast to the jammy behemoths of the past. Domaine Mayard is part of an exciting new chapter for this historic region. We can hardly contain our excitement for this unicorn of an alpine Nebbiolo from Dislivelli. Former architect turned renegade winemaker Gian Piero Ioli farms his 1 hectare of vines beyond organically, intervening as little as possible. His state-of-the-art cellar (where everything is done by hand) looks like something out of Star Wars. A far-cry from Barolo, this remarkable wine is lighter in color but not in intensity nor complexity - more perfumed, ethereal, and ever-evolving in the glass.
