Daycare Worker Jimmie Jane Grantham Hit 10-month-old Baby In Head With A Bottle & Broke His Leg

Jimmie Jane Grantham, 63, was taken into custody and charged with felony child abuse and neglect after a mother reported that her child experienced abuse while attending the Just for Kids Preschool and Childcare Center on Lynnhaven Road in Virginia Beach.

That mother has retained legal representation.

The family’s legal team at Cooper Hurley stated that the alleged incident occurred a few months ago, specifically on March 13. They claim that her then-10-month-old son was dropped off at daycare that morning as a "happy and healthy infant."

Later that same day, the child’s mother received a call from someone at the daycare who expressed concern about an injury to the child’s foot. The child was taken to the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters in Norfolk, where doctors diagnosed him with a fractured shin.

The child’s mother reported that she received several conflicting accounts regarding how the injury occurred.

Virginia Beach Police became involved, and over the weekend, they arrested and charged Grantham with felony child abuse and neglect.

Three Women Arrested For The Death & Torture Of 7-Year-Old Girl Left In Their Care

A Long Island family subjected a 7-year-old girl to months of physical abuse, resulting in 90 different injuries, before her death in December 2025.

Emily Kelly, 50; Barbara Renner, 75; and Elyssa Seymore, 24, have all been charged in connection with the death of Jor’Dynn Duncan, who passed away on Dec. 29, 2025.

Kelly, from Bayport, is facing the most serious charge of second-degree murder. She kept a record of the year-long abuse and torture inflicted on Jor’Dynn, which included prolonged restraint, physical harm, and a lack of medical attention for those injuries.

Kelly is the fiancée of Jor’Dynn’s father and obtained full custody of the girl in April 2025.

Renner is Kelly’s mother, and Seymore is her daughter, as per investigators. Renner has been charged with second-degree manslaughter, while Seymore faces charges of first-degree unlawful imprisonment.

On the day Jor’Dynn died, Kelly called 911 around 10:30 a.m. to report that the girl had gone into cardiac arrest.

However, an autopsy revealed that Jor’Dynn actually died from a severe untreated infection linked to about 90 injuries on her body, according to investigators.

The investigation later showed that Jor’Dynn had missed 40 days of school in early 2025, with Kelly providing various false excuses — trips to Disneyland, illnesses, and family deaths — to hide the abuse, authorities stated.

Highway Superintendent John Reilly Sentenced For Shooting DoorDash Driver Who Asked For Directions

New York Highway Superintendent John Reilly, 49, was sentenced on Monday to 17 years in prison and will also have to complete five years of post-release supervision following his conviction for a shooting that occurred last May.

Reilly, 49, faced accusations of shooting and seriously injuring Alpha Barry, a food delivery driver who had legally immigrated to the U.S. from Guinea.

According to State Police, Barry, 24, knocked on the door of a house in the Valerie Drive neighborhood of Chester on May 2, 2025, carrying a bag of food. He had forgotten the address of the house he was supposed to deliver to after his phone battery died.

In response, Reilly told him to leave before he grabbed a gun and fired twice at Barry, hitting him once in the lower back.

He had to have emergency surgery, during which two feet of his small intestine were removed because the .45 caliber bullet did not exit his body.

Barry, who had only moved to the U.S. in October 2024, managed to drive away from the scene but collapsed when he got home.

He had to undergo emergency surgery, during which two feet of his small intestine were removed because the .45 caliber bullet did not exit his body.

“For six months, my life revolved around a colostomy bag,” Barry stated in a message read by Senior Assistant District Attorney Nicholas Mangold at the beginning of the sentencing.

“This was not merely a medical requirement. It was a continual source of physical agony and profound emotional distress.

The simple, everyday act of using the bathroom turned into a source of anxiety and trauma. I lived in a state of constant fear and discomfort, never knowing when the next wave of pain or embarrassment would hit. This ordeal cut me off from the world.

BODYCAM: Georgia Cop Left Disabled Veteran & Amputee Husband Stranded On Dark Highway

In late April 2026, Army veteran Debra Mobley-Sadler Sims and her husband, Bobby—who is a bilateral amputee and wheelchair user—were stopped by a police officer in Hinesville, Georgia.

Officer Todd Parmentier initiated the stop because the state's electronic database indicated that the couple's vehicle lacked insurance. However, the couple's insurance provider (USAA) later confirmed in writing that their policy was indeed active and in force at that time.

Even after explaining that the veteran's husband was an amputee who had not walked in two years, the officer issued a citation, ordered them out of the vehicle, and had their car towed. The officer left the vulnerable couple stranded on the side of a dark, unlit road in the middle of the night, instructing them to catch an Uber. With no practical way to get home, they had to call a family member for a ride
