Is there a new Asian Buffet coming to Monticello? There is a public hearing in front of the Monticello Planning Commission to rezone and CUP a parcel off of 7th Street near the post office. Developer/Owner is proposing to construct a 10,000 square feet building for a 6,000 square foot Asian buffet style restaurant and an adjoining 4,000 square feet of commercial space. Spring is here…well I think it is…it may not look like it later this week with the snow coming. But with that said the city is opening the compost site tomorrow. You can read more below.

Want to do some spring cleaning and help the earth at the same time? Take advantage of the City’s compost site, open for the season tomorrow! 🌎

City residents need an access card to enter the facility. We will issue 1 access card per property address on request. Request forms are available on the city’s website (https://monticellomn.gov/336/Compost-Facility) or you can stop by City Hall to fill out the form.

The compost site is available 7 days a week, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Beginning Monday, March 30, CSAH 39 will be closed between 7th Street and Chelsea Road as part of the CSAH 39 West Utility Extension project. The project crews will be completing the watermain crossing and restoring the project area.
