After much thought and discussion, it has been decided not to open the track this year. There are many things that factored into this decision. I am sorry for the confusion that this may have caused and hope you all have a good racing season.

Alright racers, here are the planned classes for this season. Classes can always be added if the interest is high enough.
Rules will be basically the same as the 2015 season with the exception the clone and 206 engines being updated to the 2017 rules. NKA and AKRA for the clones and Briggs for the 206. Complete rules can be found on the website. http://litchfieldspeedway.webs.com/

Karts:
Rookies - Non points class Ages 5-8
Junior I Ages 7-12 250 lbs
Junior II Ages 12-15 310 lbs
Adult Med Age 15 and up 350 lbs
Adult Open Age 16 and up 350 lbs

Sprints:
Will run the same rules as KAM for simplicity.
Restricted
Non winged
Winged

In past years the sprints have alternated between winged and non winged depending on car count to raise the number of possible racers.

Just a quick update for everyone. The ground the track sits on is rented, the schedule is mostly ready, and the insurance has been figured out. Still more work to do, and there will probably be a track work day to repair the fencing, bleachers, etc.

Plans are in the works to try and open the track this year. Still a lot of work to do and as always, volunteers are always welcome.
