Honda Recalls Over 880,000 Vehicles Over Rear Suspension Corrosion Risk
Honda has issued a nationwide recall affecting more than 880,000 vehicles due to a defect that could increase crash risk.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the issue involves the rear subframe on certain Honda and Acura models. In areas where road salt is used, the subframe may corrode over time. Severe corrosion can weaken suspension mounting points, potentially leading to loss of vehicle control.
Vehicles Included in the Recall
● 2016–2022 Honda Pilot
● 2017–2023 Honda Ridgeline
● 2019–2023 Honda Passport
● 2014–2020 Acura MDX
Honda says only a small number of vehicles are likely affected and reports no known injuries or fatalities.
Owners will receive recall notices by mail. Dealerships will inspect the rear subframe and, if needed, install a reinforcement bracket or replace parts free of charge.
