Help Exonerate Adam Braseel

Help Exonerate Adam Braseel Adam was released on August 2nd, 2019. We are thankful for everyone who has support us in this fight. Help us exonerate Adam of this unjust conviction.

However, under the advice of counsel Adam took an Alford plea to a felony assault charge. NO PHYSICAL EVIDENCE…
NO MATCHING DNA…
NO MOTIVE…
YET ADAM BRASEEL IS STILL SERVING A LIFE SENTENCE…

On November 9, 2007, in Grundy County, TN, Adam was wrongfully convicted of murder, felony murder, especially aggravated robbery, criminal attempted first degree murder, aggravated assault, and assault. He is

currently serving a life sentence, in a maximum-security prison for crimes he did not commit. There was no forensic evidence found on any of the items sent to the TBI Crime Lab, nor is there any DNA that places him at either bloody crime scene. We have substantial amount evidence that will prove intentional acts of misconduct and gross negligence from prosecutorial and police officials. During the investigation, the Sheriff's department refused to take affidavits from witnesses, and failed to secure video evidence that placed Adam at a different location during the time the crimes were committed. It would be physically impossible for Adam to have murdered this man, and attempted the murder of another, without having a trace of DNA evidence linking him to either crime. There is no way Adam could have done this, having been in a completely different city with friends. Adam left from one friend’s house to meet with another friend for a planned four-wheeling trip, on his way he stopped at a convenience store, then he stopped to talk with a couple of friends he ran into. When he arrived at his friend’s house, he was in a normal manner, saw, and spoke with his friend’s mom, he had the same clothes on as he did when he left. This is the same clothes the Sheriff ‘s department took as evidence, the same clothes the eye-witness identified him as to wearing, the same clothes the officer took a snap shot of him wearing, REMEMBER… no DNA was found on any article of clothing, he acted in a normal demeanor, and he went four- wheeling with friends. What do you think? Even the Sheriff and Chief Deputy stated that Adam was not” large enough in size” to have committed the murder but did not search for or actively investigate any of the other suspects in this case. Adam case is based solely on the tainted and suggestive testimonies of two questionable eyewitnesses, whose credibility was never investigated. Due to the countless amounts of discrepancies and contradictions, in this case, by prosecution, law officials, eyewitnesses, along with the negligence and ineffective assistance of legal counsel, it is fair to say that Adam Braseel was unjustly represented, and did not receive a fair trial! Adam’s constitutional rights were violated, he deserves the right to a fair and just trial. The lack of any blood evidence, fingerprints, DNA, or factual evidence should raise enough reasonable doubt, and should only come to one conclusion, that Adam is completely innocent. It is obvious that, had it not been for the intentional acts of misconduct by police officer’s and prosecution, along with the negligence and fatal errors made by his legal defense, the outcome of the verdict would have in fact, been a different one! Please help us bring justice to this innocent man...

This number always gets to me, just think about it...
It is still so hard to fathom I spent 12 years in prison serving a life sentence, completely innocent. It’s unbelievable thinking about all the others that have went through the same thing, serving collectively 12,740 years innocent in prison. Imagine how many others are still fighting…
I try and realize every day how blessed I am to be home, and always stay thankful for all those that fought for me. I am also thankful for all the others that have been justly freed. I am praying for all the others who are still fighting and those fight for us that are innocent.🙌🫶

2904th EXONERATION: Adam Braseel, TN

After two victims misidentified him, Adam Braseel was convicted in 2007 and sentenced to life in prison for a murder and assault in Grundy County, Tennessee. In 2017, a fingerprint was matched to the man most likely to be the actual murderer. He closely resemembled Braseel, who was given a pardon of exoneration by Gov. Bill Lee in 2021.

EXONERATED!
Adam Braseel was wrongly convicted of a murder in Grundy County he knew nothing about. Adam spend 12 years in jail and lost his young marriage and his family farm fighting for justice. Yet, somehow, this young man shows no bitterness. In a situation where many of us would be angry and resentful, Adam Braseel has been optimistic and forgiving. Over the past few years, as I have told his story I have been humbled and instructed by his attitude. He is not only an innocent man he is a GOOD man.
