Team Member Spotlight: Brittany B. | Caribou Coffee Department Manager – Glencoe, MN
Brittany’s journey with Coborn’s began in late 2021, when she joined Caribou Coffee as an entry-level barista while working full-time as a CNA during the height of the pandemic. Facing burnout and seeking more balance in her life, Brittany transitioned to part-time and found something unexpectedly life-changing.
“I was looking for a fresh start—something positive and grounding. A place where I could genuinely enjoy what I was doing,” Brittany shares. “Caribou became exactly that.”
Within months, Brittany was promoted to lead, and soon after, she stepped into a management role. “Everything just fell into place from there. It’s been a rewarding journey of growth ever since.”
What’s kept her moving forward? “The people, the culture, and the chance to make an impact. I found purpose here early on—being trusted to lead, encouraged to grow, and inspired by the leaders around me.”
Brittany credits her early mentor Jaidyn for seeing her potential and providing support while letting her learn through experience. She also acknowledges the key roles that Yodee R. (Store Director, Glencoe) and Kelsey D. (Caribou Coffee Operations Specialist) have played in her continued development. “Their guidance gave me the confidence and tools to lead with empathy and clarity.”
Leadership and training have been at the heart of Brittany’s growth. “One of the most impactful areas for me has been in training and development—learning to support a diverse team and tailor my approach to meet different learning styles. Watching team members grow and succeed has been incredibly fulfilling.”
Reflecting on her transition from healthcare to retail leadership, Brittany says, “My time at Coborn’s has had a huge impact on my work-life balance and personal growth. I’ve learned how to lead with both strength and empathy, communicate more effectively, and manage challenges with confidence.”
Her advice to others just starting out: “Stay open, curious, and engaged. Every opportunity—no matter how small—can shape your future.”
