Garage Door Technician

Byerly Garage Doors is seeking a dependable, motivated, and hardworking individual to join our team as a Garage Door Technician.

This position involves the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of residential and commercial garage doors and operating systems.

Job Responsibilities

● Install residential and commercial garage doors and garage door openers
● Diagnose and repair garage door and opener issues
● Replace springs, cables, rollers, tracks, panels, openers, and other components
● Perform routine maintenance and safety inspections
● Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues
● Safely operate tools, ladders, and equipment required for installations and repairs
● Maintain a clean and organized work area and service vehicle
● Communicate professionally and courteously with customers
● Explain repairs and recommended services clearly to customers
● Follow company procedures and all applicable safety guidelines
● Represent Byerly Garage Doors in a professional manner at all times

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will:

● Be dependable, punctual, and have a strong work ethic
● Be mechanically inclined and comfortable working with hand and power tools
● Have good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
● Be able to work independently as well as part of a team
● Have excellent customer service and communication skills
● Be comfortable working on ladders and lifting/moving garage door components and equipment
● Possess a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record
● Be willing to learn and take pride in providing quality workmanship

Previous garage door, construction, maintenance, electrical, mechanical, or skilled-trade experience is preferred, but training may be available for the right candidate.

📣Member Spotlight…Larry and Rhea Ann Weatherford, owners of KISS/KOOL Radio Stations located in Covington

Larry and Rhea Ann Weatherford have a heart for their community which spreads across the entire Illiana area

A community’s story is shaped by the people who care enough to get involved.

For Larry and Rhea Ann Weatherford, owners of KISS Country 103.1 and KOOL 92.9 radio stations, that commitment reaches well beyond the airwaves.

Through radio, they share a connection with listeners across the area.

But their dedication to the entire Illiana area also comes through in their involvement with the places and programs that preserve its history and celebrate its creativity.

For many years they have been the sponsor of the Car Show at the Covington Apple Fest. They make sure that the show runs smooth and they’ve helped create such a great partnership with the Apple Fest.

Their involvement with the Festival of Trees in Danville is apparent through their sponsorship, giving of their time and constantly being present at the week long event.

The sports coverage they continually cover and highlight is like no other in this area! Hours of work and preparation go into covering the local sports and this alone is such a a gift to our communities.

The Vermilion County War Museum holds a special place in their hearts too. Their involvement helps support a mission rooted in remembrance—honoring those who served and preserving their stories for future generations. Behind every uniform, photograph, and artifact is a person whose sacrifice deserves to be remembered.
