Meet James Foley, PT, DPT – Owner of Advantage Therapy and Rehabilitation
James was born and raised in Covington, IN, where he now lives with his wife, Shelby, and their two daughters, Charlotte and Ruby.
Shelby also plays a key role at the clinic as Office and Operations Manager.
After graduating from Covington High School in 2013, James went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Kinesiology from IUPUI, followed by his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Indiana State University.
During his time away for school and clinical rotations, he experienced firsthand the advanced therapy resources available in larger cities — and it quickly became clear that his career goal would be to bring that same level of care and access back home to Covington.
“The greatest way to honor where you come from is by giving back to the community that shaped you, ensuring it thrives for generations to come.”
At Advantage Therapy and Rehabilitation, we are committed to extending diverse and comprehensive therapy services to rural and underserved communities. We believe in reaching those who need our expertise the most, providing them with the support and care they deserve.”
Our purpose is simple yet powerful: Help others find their advantage. Whether through therapy or wellness services, we aim to empower individuals to achieve better health, mobility, and quality of life.
As part of Advantage’s growth these past 5 years, bringing comprehensive therapy services to the region has been a key focus — expanding beyond just physical therapy, including vestibular rehab, women’s health, and pelvic floor therapy. We’ve added speech therapy and occupational therapy services in assisted living facilities, and we are actively planning to launch occupational therapy and speech services directly to the community by 2026.
That philosophy doesn’t stop at the clinic doors. Advantage Therapy proudly supports local schools, youth programs, and community events through sponsorships and partnerships — because we believe the dollars spent on healthcare in our community should benefit our community. Rather than disappearing into a large corporate system, those resources stay local, where they can do the most good.”
Whether James is treating patients, mentoring his team, or investing in community partnerships, his focus is on building something lasting that gives back to Covington — now and for years to come.
We love having Advantage Therapy and Rehabilitation as part of the Covington Community!
