The kids are the parents now.

When Hobo Dave Brown told Andy he should just let Opie "decide for himself" how he wanted to live… Andy had these words of wisdom.

"No, I'm afraid it don't work that way. You can't let a young’n decide for himself. He'll grab at the first flashy thing with shiny ribbons on it. Then, when he finds out there's a hook in it, it's too late. Wrong ideas come packaged with so much glitter that it's hard to convince ‘em that other things might be better in the long run. All a parent can do is say 'wait' and 'trust me' and try to keep temptation away."

Somehow... we have lost this basic truth.

Girl, don’t know how many times I say this to the newbie’s coming into this industry. So many knows nothing of trucking but want to run the business. 🙄

Gonna say this again….

Let’s get one thing straight, this industry is NOT for the weak.

If you don’t have:

☑️ Tough skin
☑️ Patience
☑️ Hustle
☑️ A no quit attitude
☑️ A coachable mindset

This ain’t for you…

If you do have:

☑️ The heart of a lion
☑️ That no quit attitude
☑️ That “it has to work or it has to work”
☑️ A why bigger than what’s going on today
☑️ A vision
☑️ A level of commitment that can’t be moved.

……in that case you can be successful. Don’t get in this business because everyone is doing it. Don’t get into it because it looks like the new wave. Get your mind right so you can get the grind right…

Steve with Kiss Trucking was finally after three years of dispatching him was close enough to my house to invite him and his dog Bruce to the house for steak dinner and fun. It was so nice to finally meet him and have him as part of our family. below is a photo of my grandson Canaan taking a look a Steve's truck and my business logo he put on his trailer.
