The espresso machine was invented in Turin, Italy in 1884. When it came to coffee, our beloved robusta gives traditional Italian espresso its thick, golden crema and bold body. And a huge amount of it has come from Vietnam, the worldās #1 robusta producer, for decades!!
Vietnamese farmers have been quietly fueling some of the most famous Italian coffee brands. Then in the 1990s, the specialty coffee industry rebranded around 100% arabica, robusta got labeled ācheapā overnight, and Vietnamese coffee inherited a reputation that was never really about the bean.
For us, we knew the bean was never the problem. Nguyen Coffee Supply was started to write a different story about robusta and champion the people behind Vietnamās prized coffee bean. Cheers to the peopleās grind!!
