Blanchards was established in 1838 by the Blanchard Family. The first store was located in Scollay Square in Downtown Boston, which is the current location of Boston City Hall. In 1938 it was purchased by John Corey, a visionary in the liquor industry. Mr. Corey grew the company from one retail location into a chain retail stores. He also opened a distilled spirits plant and import division in the 1950’s located in Boston’s Historic South End. Currently, there are 7 retail stores throughout the Metro Boston Area. Each are individually owned and operated by the Corey family, now in the third generation. The Allston location of Blanchards opened in 1954. It’s the flagship store, and one of the largest liquor stores in the Boston area. Blanchards continues to be #1 in the market by offering the best selection, and competitive prices. Our stores are bright, clean, and easy to shop. We also provide free parking while shopping in the store.
