What kind of backward, medieval, and unrealistic worldview makes an adult person look at a little girl and think she is fit to be his wife? How completely devoid of care and empathy must one be to call a marriage between a 9-year-old and a 50-year-old "fantastic"?!
How have we reached a point where there are no reactions to a direct slap of pe******ia? Vulgar sexual exploitation of children is not considered proper, because someone calls it marriage.
A nine-year-old girl should not be anyone's wife. I don't care if the man is 20 or 50. It is pe******ia regardless of the man's age, which forces a child into marriage.
And I don't care what religious texts you use as an excuse. If one's so-called prophet is used to justify it, you have simply demonstrated how far you are willing to go to defend the indefensible.
I am furious about how little outrage such statements cause. It is outrageous that the left-wing can continue with their beautiful words about women's liberation, while arguments are being made to turn little girls into adult men's wives. If that is not called an outrage, what is?
I expect an unforgivable condemnation from the government. I expect politicians who dare to confront the human dignity of Hizb ut-Tahrir. And I expect authorities to intervene at concrete signs that children are being married off, being subjected to abuse, or just growing up in families where this is the human dignity they live by.
We must not accept a medieval way of life, where the religious visions of adult men weigh heavier than a little girl's childhood.
A nine-year-old is a child. She belongs to no man. And those who defend that she can be made his wife deserve nothing but condemnation and a one-way ticket out of Denmark!
