'WAR" was started in 1961 by Bill Werth when he moved from Butler Pa.to New Jersey and started helping Johnny Luhrs and Matty McMann with their race cars at Old bridge speedway,Wall Stadium,East Windsor Speedway and Flemington Speedway Bill was known as a top fabricator and car builder at that time. modified driven by Don Stumpf, Tommie Elliott and Don Stives.In 1975 Bill was asked by Bob French t

o build a race car for his son Doug French.During that time Bill was also found helping an upstart named John Blewtt Jr. His son Brett Werth started in go-carts at age 4 and then went to motorcycles at age 10.Hanging out with Thomas Ma**er, Chris Ma**er and Scott McClaren when he was young all he wanted to do was race.In 1971 Bobby Ayers bought a dirt modified and kept it next door to Bretts house. Brett could be seen every night hanging out with Bobby and his crew watching and trying to help on his car. Bob ran at East Windsor and Flemington Speedways and that is where Brett learned his love for dirt tracks. and when Brett visited his dad and went to a World of Outlaws sprint car race he was hooked. Brett moved to Ohio in 1988 and started helping local drivers on their sprint cars.Chris Pochiro was Bretts first driver that he helped and to this day they remain close friends. Brett learned all about sprint cars and the joy of traveling From Chris. They could be seen at tracks all over the Midwest. In 1993 Brett was hired By Ron Trevis Of Trevis Craft to help build new sprint cars and also restore old sprint cars and Indy cars from the 60.s and 70,s.Working for Ron and his father Floyd Trevis brought Brett new opportunities. Doug zucco asked Brett to crew chief his 69z sprint car witch Brett helped build with Ron Trevis. From there Brett helped Davey Jones ,P.J.Kerr,Mike Lutz and Dave Penezich. Brett was helpful in P.J.Kerr and Mike Lutz winning their championship and many feature wins at Hickory Speedway in New Castle, Pa.Brett also was responsilble for Davey Jones first win and Chris Pochiros wins and strong runs against the All Stars and World of Outlaws. In 1998 Brett moved back to New Jersey to pursue business interests and his driving career.Brett has had moderate success in 360 sprint cars and dirt modifieds in central and eastern Pa. Now he is ready to go back racing full time. With his drive and passion Brett will continue to be a winner for a long time.
