Davidoff Year of the Dragon Double Corona. The limited-edition double corona is composed of 8 different tobccos from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Mexico and Ecuador, which in total have a combined age of 60 years. The cgr surprises aficionados with an uncut foot, meaning that the first inch (2.5 cm) of the cgr is to be enjoyed without the wrapper. This requires utmost precision in not only rolling but also blending. Despite the absence of the wrapper, the beginning of the cgr is very enjoyable and exemplifies a high skillset in craftsmanship, as the Master Blenders managed to create an intriguing switch in taste and sensation as soon as the wrapper leaf comes in with added depth and complexity of flavours.

Story behind the cgr

For the twelfth consecutive time, Davidoff celebrates the Chinese New Year with a collection around a zodiac. With this release, the brand for the first time completes an entire zodiac cycle, which began in 2013 with the Snake. The Dragon is the largest and most important character in the entire zodiac, and Davidoff reflected this with the large double corona cgr.

Davidoff Nicaragua Box Pressed Robusto is hand-rolled with 100% Nicaraguan tobccos. Its special format gives the Box Pressed Robusto extra intensity and flavour, all the while preserving a smooth draw throughout. The intense taste experience begins with notes of aromatic spice that complement undertones of wood and leather. Balanced flavours of hazelnut and sweet spice blending with notes of cream dominate the second third. As the cgr comes to its close, subtle notes of leather and intensified aromas of spice and pepper make an appearance.

From fire comes intensity: Fire is not easily tamed, yet the Davidoff Master Blenders have done it. You can taste the heat and intensity of the rich, volcanic soil of Nicaragua which has been softened to bittersweet perfection in Davidoff Nicaragua.

The Bolivar Armonías was released as part of the Habanos S.A. Regional Editions program in 2008. It was created as exclusive produce for mainland China.

This Bolivar features a Salomón vitola, which measures at a lengthy 184mm by a 57 ring gauge. It's fair to say it's bark is a big as it's bite - expect a full-bodied smke from this one!

These Cubans come in a circular red gloss humidor - finessed with gold lettering, tying into the Chinese theme. A protective bag is also included to encase the box along with a commemorative book to narrate the history of the Bolivar marca and the reasons for this commemorative release.

Only 2,008 of these bad boys were produced - so do not sleep on them!
