Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) launched Milaf Cola as the world’s first date-based soft drink, aiming to offer a healthier, sugar-free alternative to traditional sodas like Pepsi and Coca-Cola. According to News9Live, the drink is made from locally sourced dates, contains no added sugar, and was unveiled at the Riyadh Date Festival by Thurath Al-Madina, a PIF subsidiary.
Milaf Cola is part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative, which promotes sustainability, economic diversification, and cultural pride. The dates provide natural sweetness along with health benefits like fiber, antioxidants, potassium, and magnesium. The drink complies with international food safety standards and is marketed as both eco-friendly and nutritious.
